Couch to 5K Anyone want to start with me ?

I want to start the couch to 5K program , does anyone want to start it with me on Monday or Tuesday ? I would like to even double it up , so I can finish it in 4 weeks? But I'll see how it goes at first?

If anyone wants to start it with me please let me know

Thanks

We begin our spring break this Friday, Good Friday and on Saturday, my kids, hubby and I will be setting sail to Mexico and Belize!!! I am taking my workout gear since there is a fitness center and running track on board. I am so excited to be going and to be able to get my workouts in.

This has been great, shopping for the cruise was good because I didn't have to go to the plus sizes, it has been so long since I was in regular Misses sizes.

I know I am not leaving til Saturday, but I am so excited about it, I am about to burst!

Well...ive finally read this thread..and I think I am going to try it! I was banded on 2/27- lost about 27lbs since my pre op diet (started that around 2/14). I already feel like i have SO much more energy- I would love to start putting my newfound energy toward running 3 miles instead of just walking around the block! I plan on doing it in about 9 weeks as that is what Ive found is the healthiest way to do it- esp coming from someone that hasnt run in...a VERy long time!) Im excited!!!!

Good for you Crosby - It's turned a slug like me into enjoying the gym; running & all.

Have a great trip Paragirl - enjoy the cruise & the shopping beforehand ..

Wombat - I'm dying to get to Six Flaggs!!! I'm a roller coaster junkie,...Have FUN!!

So I've been reading this thread for a bit and I've looked into the training program. I find this, in itself, funny...cause if you knew me, you'd know that "running/jogging" just isn't in my vocabulary. lol. Walk? Sure. All day long. But I've been toying with this idea now for a couple of weeks. My schedule is packed during the week so I may have to wait until after this semester ends to follow the program like it's intended. I gave it a go on Sunday...headed out to the bike/walk path near my house. Did the 5 minute warm up then attempted to jog for 30 sec. Did it. But felt like a complete tool. There is NOTHING graceful about my 258lb. ass trying to pick up speed. lol. Sooo the intervals weren't timed...it was more like a wait until there aren't 10 people running towards/behind you and then trot off. ha. But I did take a detour and came across a Hell's Angel's party which was a little bit intimidating (there were over 100 bikers there!) so I was able to jog those few blocks. Anyway, all of this rambling to ask....when did you start running? Maybe I'm still too heavy...I can't help but feel like I might be causing more damage if I try this at this weight. Any suggestions? Oh yeah, and to make up for not running the intervals...I walked a little over 4 miles. Exercise is exercise, right?!

Good luck to all of yall!!

Somebody kick me!!!!! Ever since I finished the 9 week program, I have gradually fallen OFF the bus! I haven't run in 8 days!!!!!!! Help Me, Rhonda!!!

And, by the way, have mentioned lately how FRUSTRATED I am that I've only lost 27 pounds since I started my pre-op diet on 10/25/07?????? That's almost 5 months!!!!!

ok... did 3miles today in 42min but the 5min warm up walking is killing my time... lol

I was really amazed going at 5.1 (on tredmill speed) for 12mins...

I feel really good today and starting to see a difference on my weight and looks.

I'm at 236.2 but i dont want to place on signature till i stay at the weight for 2 more days or lower ;p very happy that i'm also getting full on little amount of reg food... but dont know why but i can chowdown a whole bowl of salad and not other food... lol

Comepickmeup (love that name) - I started running around 180'ish and Yes exercise IS exercise - Move anyway ya can..LOL

Stranger - here's your Kick:)...wouldn't actually do that, but I can totally - totally understand your scale frustration. Are you measuring yourself, I noticed when I started to really workout that the scale didn't move but the inches were falling off - About 2 wks ago when I got fill #6 did my restriction kick in VS. relying on willpower. Hubby and I also are doing a "boot camp" thing - and it's really starting to impact our appearance ... He lost 9lbs last wk (:tongue2:wish i could EVER loose that in a wk)..

I'm in pyshco workout mode - and I"m annoying just about everyone around me with it...but hey, I'm digging my energy.

Great job!!!!!!!!!!

 That made me LOL.

I was just telling my neighbor I wasn't running outside until I got to week 7. I'm not about to be running up and down the street in 60 second intervals so people can be like 'Look at the fat lady go!' :Dancing_shocked:

I have completed week 5 day 1....Will do day 2 today.....I am scared of day 3---a 20 minute run?????????????????????????????????????? OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Am I ready?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

your ready BB - that was the hardest wk / day for me (had to do it twice). once you get past that it clips on by. rooting for ya!

you can do it BB!!! i remember that one...i was super nervous before doing it...i remember stepping up to the treadmill and thinking here goes nnuthin!

And when i got to 15mins i thought 'holy c### i am going to do this!'

Lets go Ladies!!!! (I love my 5k ladies)

you can do it BigBaby!!!!! I was super nervous too - it just seems so daunting!! But, oh what a thrill when you make it through it :(

I'm still amazed at the progress we've all made!! Week 1 I thought I was going to die after 60 seconds (longest minute of my life). Now - week 7 running a whole stinkin 25 min!!!! I have said (my entire life) that I do NOT run - unless there's a bug or someone is after me (both are VERY important and equally dangerous!!!!) Look at us now!!!!!!

I went to Six Flags today with the kids. I walked for 6 hours - no problem; no aches, nothing!! We even walked over to the restaurant rather than getting the car  And, I'm still up this late at night!!!!

I'm repeating week 7 next week. I haven't felt great this week and I guess it's tightened up the band again. I haven't kept much down today except a couple of bites of eggs and a peanut butter cookie. Looks like it's going to be liquids for me for a bit to get things all sorted out.
