  1. I was just banded on 2/27 by dr ortiz and I have never been more impressed with a dr. They give you their personal cell phone numbers after surgery, and they actually answer!!!!! Its amazing. The cost includes transportation to and from the air port and 3 nights hotel stay- in a nice hotel. He has done over 5000 lap bands, never lost a patient, and teaches docs all over the world on how to install the lapband. Lap Band Forum - Lap Band Surgery Discussion, Lap Band Fills, Plastic Surgery after Weight Loss is the forum that is supported by the OCC (dr. ortiz's center) good luck in your choice!
  2. going back and reading other peoples responses ive noticed that some people arent making all healthy choices- i have deicded with this band to change my way of eating- i dont want to eat junk anymore-so take my suggestions however you like! good luck!
  3. Well...ive finally read this thread..and I think I am going to try it! I was banded on 2/27- lost about 27lbs since my pre op diet (started that around 2/14). I already feel like i have SO much more energy- I would love to start putting my newfound energy toward running 3 miles instead of just walking around the block! I plan on doing it in about 9 weeks as that is what Ive found is the healthiest way to do it- esp coming from someone that hasnt run in...a VERy long time!) Im excited!!!!
  4. Thank you!! CONGRATS ON YOUR WEIGHTLOSS- OMG! what an accomplishment! how long have you ben banded?
  5. THANK GOD hahaha- i kinda had that feeling but it makes me feel MUCH better with your reasurance! thanks again! haha
  6. :confused:Soooo- i was banded on 2/27 and I am 3 days away from eating 100% solids- and today i messed up.. I had a bite of chicken that i made the the crock pot for my husband- it was already so soft- and i chewed it until it was liquid...then i had a 1/2 a crossiant AND i had a egg white cup (with spinach) My doc has put me on 100% liquids for 21 days and then i can go on 100% solids. I dont feel sick, and i didnt feel uncomfortable... i dont plan on straying from my liquids again until wednesday when my 21 days is up... do you think i did any damage???? I hate admitting this as i type but it makes me realize that what i did was wrong......any advice?
  7. congrats! i am looking forward to my first fill on 4/10 i cant wait!
  8. i was a DIET ANYTHING finatic.. i quit when i started my pre op diet- along with quitting smoking- it was a habit for me just like smoking was- i miss going to the grocery store and picking up a diet coke for the ride home, or on the way to work, from work, at work...but i FEEL better- i have gotten rid of so much JUNK in my diet:smoking, alcohol, junk food, diet soda- and i feel good- ive lose 25lbs since I started my preop a month ago (was just banded on 2/27)- Even after the 6 months i dont plan on drinking diet soda any more- its NO GOOD FOR YOU!
  9. JUST REMEMBER THAT 90% OF PEOPLE WHO DIET AND EXCERCISE FAIL. AND THEN GAIN BACK PLUS SOME. SO GOOD LUCK DOING IT ON YOUR OWN!
  10. I am still on liquids until the 18th and lately since food is on my mind and I LOVE COOKING- here are some LF/Low Cal recipes I have come up with: -salad with shredded chicken w/ mandarin oranges and a LF vinagrette(i use homemade so i can use more for less calories) (you can also throw a small handful of nuts) -A taco salad- lettuce with Beans, LF cheese, LF sour cream *instead of plain black beans you can use: a LF/LC black bean relish(beans, red pepper, corn, lemon juice and sweet&low) and shredded chicken (you can make a bigger batch and eat for 2 or 3 days) you can crush up a small handful of tortilla chips too-also natural salsa is very healthy for you -A low carb wrap with thin red pepper strips, spinach, feta cheese, red onion and healthy choice chicken another tip-is omletes do well if you make them the night before, refridgerate and eat them for lunch! * egg white omlete with LF chesse, some veggies, and some bits of turkey bacon*- you could also use some shredded potatoes for an extra filler! I hope some of these sound good for some of you! :biggrin2:
