Couch to 5K Anyone want to start with me ?

I want to start the couch to 5K program , does anyone want to start it with me on Monday or Tuesday ? I would like to even double it up , so I can finish it in 4 weeks? But I'll see how it goes at first?

If anyone wants to start it with me please let me know

Thanks

Mindy

BigBaby - I agree that it is much more difficult outside. I ran week 8 again today outside. I know my pace is really slow compared to inside on the treadmill. My breathing was only labored a few times during the entire run where I needed to do my breathing rythm. I definitely have to focus on my breathing when I'm inside a whole lot more!!!

I feel it more in my knees after a run outside too. My knees have been achy all day, but they will be fine tomorrow.

You are doing soooooo great!!!!!

Give me some more details, please. :huh2:

Allamess---your name cracks me up....

This is an exercise program that gradually teaches/allows you to run 5k at one time. It's a 9 week program that uses intervals of jogging and walking. The jogging is slowly increased each week. Here's the website if you'd like more info.

Cool Running :: The Couch-to-5K Running Plan

WOOO HOOOOOO! It looks like a lot of fun but I don't know if my fat ass can handle it! BUT guess what I am going to try it out. So, here is my email address so you can keep in touch with me and send me yours. My true dream is to be able to run a marathon someday.

I especially want to do the walk for breast cancer next year! I wanted to do it this year actually in a couple of weeks here in Houston but I didn't have enough time to get in shape in order to run which is what I want to do not walk. bleeg2000@hotmail.com keep in touch and I will be getting started this weekend. I am going to set up my page and the tracker and get to walking! Thanks for the idea.

Hey guys, just back from my post op visit and the doctor gave me the go ahead! I am sooo excited. Moday is my start day. Thanks for the knowledge and motivation!

wooohooo - Finished week 8 this morning!!! I'm so ready to get my butt back in the gym on a treadmill next week. The pavement is rough on my old knees :tt1:

Have a FANTASTIC Weekend!!!!

I DID IT!!!!!!!! 199.8 -- I saw it!!!!! Sunday morning! Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah!!!!!!

congrats stranger!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

wombat i agree w/you the pavement is hard on the knees - but i'm finding the treadmill sorta boring. great job on finnishing wk8!!!

STRANGER!!!! STRANGER!!!!!---Welcome to "Oneder-land"---It's such a great feeling!!!!!! Isn't it!!!!

YEA!!! YEA!!! YEA!!! YEA!!!!

Thanks for your praise! I'm super-excited!!! HOWEVER....I've been feeling baaaaaad lately! I got a fill Thursday, then went to a party Saturday night. Indulged a bit too much, then vomited on Sunday. My tummy's been unhappy since. I've been on liquids since then, how long til ya'll think I will be better?????

Stranger- sorry to hear you are feeling bad!!! Try treating it like a stomach virus. You've done two days now of liquids so I would try some crackers or potato soup - nice bland and soft stuff that shouldn't upset the tummy. Hope you feel better soon!!!!

I did week 9 today!!! I RAN 30 MINUTES!!!! WOOOHOOOO!!!!

Ok - question though - I am not anywhere near 3 miles. I did 2.5 WITH the warmup walk. Otherwise it is only 2.25 miles.

Is the 5K supposed to include the warmup and cool down? Cause I can do .5 in that 10 min. So it would be up to 2.75 miles if that counts

I'm just trying to figure out what to do next. Obviously I wouldn't survive a 5K run right now (grrrr).

HAPPY TUESDAY Y'ALL!!!!
