I usually weigh myself 3 times. I don't know why, I just do, LOL!!! This morning the first weight was 215, second 220.5, third 218. What the hell????? My scales aren't terribly old, what's going on here? I must need a new set. Can anyone recommend a reliable brand that I can depend on and doesn't cost an arm and a leg? Thanks!

I finally bought a Tanita... it's not the fanciest model and I found the best price on it at drugstore.com... it was a little pricey... but... if I get on it three times in a row... it will give me the same weight every single time. Now... If I were to get on it at different times during the day I'm sure the weight levels would vary and we have differing Fluid shifts as the day progresses. Another reason I love my Tanita is that the numbers it gives are right in line with my Dr's scale(Tanita)... his is much fancier but they both tell the same story. :)

Your lowest weight is going to be in the mornings before you eat anything, after you do your morning bathroom duty. It also helps to be fully awake when you weigh - then you're not such a deadweight on the scales.

As your day progresses, your body becomes heavier as you consume food and liquids. Your highest weight will most likely be right before bed.

You may also want to remember that the scale is an inadequate measurement of your overall success... :)

Girl what are you doing weighing yourself 3 times a day? You will drive yourself batty. I used to do that and I got so discouraged with my weight loss and is why I started the WEEKLY weigh in challenge. I get on the scale once a week and post my weight here and since that day back in June I have lost something every single week. Buit to answer your question I have heard that the Tanita scales are the best.

www.tanita.com I believe is their web site. If not do a search for Tanita..lots of sites will come up. I know they sell them at Sportsmart.

Hey Blossom,

That is precisely why I don't own a scale. I find over the counter one's normally are unreliable. I weigh myself once a week on the doctor's scale. I reweigh myself 2 or 3 times in a row at the docs too. Ussually its in disbelief (one way or another) and I need to see it again. In chemistry class we always had to reweigh our samples 3 times and took the average to get the most accurate weight. Best wishes, Teresa

LOL!!!! I should have made myself clearer....I weigh myself once a week, first thing in the morning, butt nekkid! :D For some silly reason I always do it 3 times right in a row. Maybe its my mojo???

Anyway, thanks for the tanita suggestion. I will definitely give it a look. :)

I just bought the Tanita scale Plus Body Fat Monitor with Athlete Mode, #BF-680 at drugstore.com. Darcy, you were right about their prices! They had it on sale for $20 off plus free shipping and a free bottle of window cleaner (like that'll get used, LOL!).

Teresa, I took a chemistry class a couple of years ago and we had to measure everything 3 times, too. Maybe that IS why I get on the scales 3 times in a row, LOL!

I'llsucceed, I'm glad you said that! Now I don't feel so weird anymore, LOL!!! Can't wait to get my new scales so I can figure out how much I really weigh. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the 215 was correct!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
