My surgery date is April 19th... I am pretty nervous, but confident that this is the right move for me.

Me too!!! I started my liquid diet today. Nervous is an understatement but also excited because I know its the right thing for me.

I had my surgery on April 1st. The 1st week was tough but each day gets easier! I’m ready to get out of the liquid stage.

Congrats!! week 1 is behind you now :) Do you have another week of liquids or are you moving on to pureed foods?

How has everyone gone for goal setting?

They say you have to set SMART goals

Specific

Measurable

Achievable

Relevant

Time-Bound

And they also say not to focus on scale victories. That's a challenge for me! Numbers make such an obvious target.

So I've chosen some targets like

Do 20 minutes on the stationary bike, twice a week by May 19.

Drop 10 kg by June 19.

Do 1 pullup by July 19. And do a DXA sscanand reward myself with $100 per bf% dropped.

Turn down the CPAP by August 19.

By February 19 I want to fit into size 36 jeans.

Has anyone got some good targets sorted out?

Ok, I am two days out. Stomach feels full. When do I get to poop?

It’s probably the swelling - i had that feeling for 4 days so i feel for you. And don’t worry post op Constipation won’t last more than 4-5 days. Try and get your Water in that’ll help !

Im drinking Protein water!

It doesn't feel too bad really. I'm finding that sitting upright helps a lot. My surgeon will be around a bit later this morning to have a chat about it all.

Good Morning to all of the April surgery folks. I am a little late to the "party"! I had my gastric sleeve surgery on 4/11, and would love to connect to others who are currently on the same journey (and possibly the same time-frame, although not necessary). It would be nice to have a "tribe" to Celebrate the victories with, as well as to support one another through the struggles!

May everyone on this journey be successful in finding and creating the newest and best version of themselves!

We’re a day apart! I had Gastric Bypass, but 🤷🏽‍♀️! Hope you’re doing well!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
