Hee, hee....Did I get your attention? Well, this is a legit post. I just wanted to know what everyone wore home from the hospital. My doc says "loose fitting clothes."

Well, if all of my stuff wasn't so darn tight, then maybe I wouldn't be needing this surgery so bad.

Seriously, sweatpants? Should I go out and get something that's really loose? Just wondering?

I'm gettting sooooo excited!;)

You really will want something loose and comfy around the belly.

I wore some pull on capri type sweats, t-shirt, slip on shoes, an old stretched out sport bra and my biggest undies. I was a fashion queen, I tell ya!!

Oh my gosh, I wish I would have thought of this during my original band surgery or my other 2 surgeries in Mexico, but I finally have the answer to this post: OVERALLS!

I wore overalls to my surgery last week. I brought a couple cute t-shirts and extra panties. Overalls are big and baggy and have easy access... the perfect outfit for surgery, and it's always fun looking like a farmer. Plus, you save all that "pants" space in your travel bag.

No bra with underwire ...
Make that no bra, period. I wore a muu-muu and flip-flops, but then I was in Mexico in August.

But if you have big boobies, wear a soft bra. I went to Mexico without a bra and had to put Kleenex under my sweaty boobs. And mine aren't even that big!

Pajamas! I didn't wear a bra either, but I was able to wear one the day after surgery to go walking around. But I wore pajamas that had pants and a little tanktop. They let me change back into them after surgery too.

I like the overalls idea tho...

Neither are mine, DeLarla . . . but I'm in my late 40s, if you catch my drift. I'd rather deal with the Kleenex than with all those hooks, and I was too sore to put on a stretchy sports bra with no closures. This may be too much information, Daisy, but at least you know a lot of us have given the subject some thought!

No bra here either. Although, I did put some gauze over the incision that was just under the left sister. ;) I wore a very loose fitting dress. There's no way I could handle any sort of waist band.

Okay, no giggles on this one......

But if you don't wear a bra, don't the "girls" kinda flop down on your tummy? I mean I don't want the boobies rubbing on an incision!

And I'm just not a "dress" kinda lady. If I wear some big sweatpants will the elastic in the waist rub in a place that's tender?

Am I overanalyzing this? (that's my specialty!)

Maybe I'm just so darned anxious that I'm obsessing over everything!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
