October 2022 surgery support

Looking at October 2022 for my surgery (vsg)

anyone else around that time ???

I am already making a lot of dietary changes and want to do a “trial run” of some of the presurgical dietary requirements so that my brain and food issues don’t sabotage my success when it comes down to go time.

Soo…. Roll call for October ??

10th October for me!

Nice to see so many October Surgery buddies ?

I'm October 10th also. I was Sept 28th but it just got postponed today

Just found out my insurance approved my surgery for Oct 5th. Liquid diet starts tomorrow. I'm excited to finally get to this point in my journey.

I am so over this preop... So, I am october third, and i have 4 week preop on optifast.

This is literally driving me batty. I never obsessively weighed like I do now.

I was given weekly goals I have to hit, weigh ins every weds.

I weigh in tomorow, and the scale hasn't moved since Saturday at 261 and I am supposed to be 258 tomorow afternoon.

I literally have followed this preop to an absolute T and I don't know what I have done wrong.. Or how to lose three pounds overnight. I am literally less than a week from surgery. If they cancel me I will be devastated.

Try Milk or Magnesium.
I noticed on liquid by bowels were not but I didn’t feel constipated etc.
however, after taking milk of magnesium my bowels moved and I dropped like 8 lbs, then after that it has been about a lb to 2 lbs a day. But only took that one dose if magnesium last week.

Good luck in your surgery.
I just got post pone to January, just got sick.

im so sorry youre sick.

I did miralax earlier this week and didnt loose anything

I’m scheduled for a gastric sleeve this Friday. I just began the clear liquids for the next 3 days… I’ve been on full liquids since last Friday. It’s been going good. I’ve had 2 headaches (probably carb/sugar withdrawal) & my energy is lower than normal. I’m sooo excited though ?

Best of luck on your surgery friday moutyshack

4 more days and I am starting to freak out! Just the normal stuff: why am I doing this? Maybe I should try one more time on my own…. I have never been so apprehensive about a surgery before. But I am prepared and I know it will be fine. The discomfort is short lived. This liquid diet is not helping my mood either ?

I am an absolute mess right now! 4 more days and we will join the losers bench!

I went to my final pre-op appointment yesterday. Was nervous about being delayed bc the weight was up a few pounds but I was approved at all stops (surgeon, labs, anesthesiologist) to move forward! I’ll be the first case of the day on my surgery date too which is nice, the only procedure that’ll be done on time that day as they said lol. Been on my liquid diet for a few days and I’ve been doing all right with it, hope to get in every last bit of weight loss I can.

Yes! This liquid diet is doing my head in! I’ve been having the same thoughts. Should I actually? Can I actually? We got this! We are so close! I am hoping the liquid diet before hand will be harder than after since it sounds like we won’t feel too hungry after. Fingers crossed at least. ??
Not every doctor requires a preop diet. mine also doesnt. You can check just to be sure though, I did as well. They just told me to stay away from fatty foods the week before and no carbonated beverages. I also notice you are a lower BMI like myself, and its pretty common for lower BMIs. Generally you dont have the same issues with fatty liver as someone higher and thus no need to do the liver shrinking diet.- this is how it was explained to me.

Thank you! I talked to my surgeon and he said as long as I didn't gain any weight from my original consult I didn't need any pre op diet. Just not to eat the night before.

I'm getting scared the closer to the date. I just had a covid test I guess several are needed prior to the surgery date.

I have my preop doctor's appointment on 10.6 then surgery 10.11.

How are you feeling?

Scared but excited.

I had my last appointment yesterday. Its getting really real!!

I'm new here. Just got my surgery date - RNY Bypass on October 10th! Liquid diet starts Monday October 4th.
