Do any of y'all wear the Patches? I've been looking into the Patch Aid brand. Just wondering if your blood work looked good with just wearing the patches. I can't remember to take my Vitamins by mouth. So I was hoping these actually worked.

I did for the first 2 weeks after surgery. Every doctor, nutritionist i have spoken to say they dont work. Even my own nutritionist was against me doing it but i did for a couple weeks until i was on soft foods. If you cant remember. Set a alarm on your phone. There are free apps that are pill reminders. need to get use to it because the Vitamins are life long.

Do you have other pills you have to take? I take my multi Vitamin with my other pills in the morning (after a Protein shake) then I take one Calcium with lunch at noon and another at 3. I still have alarms for the 12 and 3 ones but the morning ones I remember because the bottle is with my other pills. Eventually it becomes pretty much habit and I remember for the most part but If I am doing anything out of schedule I still forget so I still use the alarms. Oh and I say all this because my team also said no Patches. They say there is no proof that they work yet.

Our surgery center also said no Patches or gummies. I agree with setting an alarm or taking it with other meds that you already remember to take.

The Vitamins make me nauseous, so I take them at night (with my other meds) after a big snack.

It is something to think about, definitely!

Same as above, my surgery center says they don't work.

I was pretty bummed because it was my plan for my "chew it" stage. Now I can take capsules and have no problems with them so it's not a big deal to me anymore.

No I'm not on any other medication. So that's probably why it's so hard for me to remember and get use to the new normal.

I find creative ways to remember. For example, I have to take a Calcium mid day, so I put a little cup on my desk and it sits there all day so I keep seeing it. Then at lunch time I take it.

Same with my multi Vitamin. I do need to take it with food, so it sits in the little cup and when I am about half way through my Breakfast shake I take it.

Of course, this is only my M-F routine. The weekends, I carry the little cup around and hope for the best. So far so good though.

It is just one of those clear 2oz disposable cups with a lid too. Nothing fancy.

What do you do to remember if you have to take an antibiotic or something. Anything particular?? Maybe do that.

Antibiotic are usually one in the morning and one at night. I do ok with the morning and night. But it's the in between that's hard. Also I'm not perfect with antibiotics either. I sometimes forget a dose🤦‍♀️ I just thought if the Patches work. It would be simpler for me.

yea and you also have that whole feeling sick thing to kinda remind you with the antibiotic. Lol. I get it that the Patches would be way simpler but the consensus does seem to be that they are unreliable, unfortunately. I have the worst memory and was terrible too in the beginning. The alarms really do help me. A friend showed me how to set them to go off every day so you only have to set it up one time.

How long ago was your surgery? Have you had blood work? If so, how has your Vitamin levels been? What Patches do you use?

I am Definitely curious about labs for those who use the Patches. My Team recommended the patches, I am only 2 weeks post opp tomorrow so labs will be in another 2.5 months.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
