TORe Gastric Revision Procedure

Good afternoon. I just joined the forum, and I was wondering if anyone has had the TORe procedure done? Thoughts? Weight loss after? I have an appt this coming Monday for a consult. I had gastric bypass 9 years ago and lost 110 lbs but never got to my goal weight, plus I've gained about 20 lbs since the bypass. I'm just trying to weigh my options before I commit to anything.

Thanks Amy

Never even heard of it. I had to google it. So basically its just suturing your pouch even smaller thru your mouth. I didnt even know there was a revision after bypass. Pretty interesting.

  • I had it done in March and am so pleased I feel great and am doing so well.

  • I have lost 30 lbs so far I was on a liquid diet for a bout a week than went to soft foods. Now i am on a high protein with little to no carbs. The weight is coming off slow now but I had lost 20 lbs

I suggested this to a relative a few months ago. She had gained back a lot of her weight due to stretching her pouch after many years. I think she had the RNY about 20 years ago. Her health is poor and I know it's a very safe procedure from what I read. Good to know it has worked for you, thank you! I'll pass on the word.

I plan on having this done March 24th and I’m hoping to lose 40 pounds myself. @alfwc1do you have a good restriction and as of today how much have you lost?

@GeorgiaPeach48 I hope you are doing well. I’m having this surgery done on 3/24 and wanted to see how your progress was going now after almost 9 months if you don’t mind sharing.

I had my procedure exactly a year ago. I am doing great. I have lost 80 lbs and am off most of my meds. I am more active now than I have ever been. Good luck to you

@alfwc1 80 pounds that is great what to go. I just had TORe procedure yesterday and I’m hoping to lose 40 pounds in all.

I had the TORe procedure on Monday 5/15 and I’m still having some discomfort and pain but the nausea and vomiting have subsided. I can’t wait to see the results.

@clariceyIt took me about 3-4 weeks to feel normal again. You’ll start seeing results soon, if not already. Best of luck!

Thanks, @GeorgiaPeach48!! I definitely can use some encouragement. I'm only on day 8 and I'm very hungry and weak as I'm still on full liquids until this Sunday. For some reason this seems so much harder than when I had my original RNY. Definitely seeing the pounds drop on the scale already but looking forward to having some oomph back LOL
