    TORe Post Op Diet

That's a great point...thanks! I will definitely be extending this phase to ensure full healing. Appreciate the post!!
  2. Just wondering what other RNY => TORe patients' Post Op diet transition was like. I did clears for 4 days then started full liquids 2 weeks then I'll do soft/mushies for 2 weeks. I'm seeing other folks extending their soft foods to 3 weeks so I'm wondering if doing that may help overall. I suppose it couldn't hurt, right?
  3. Thanks, @GeorgiaPeach48!! I definitely can use some encouragement. I'm only on day 8 and I'm very hungry and weak as I'm still on full liquids until this Sunday. For some reason this seems so much harder than when I had my original RNY. Definitely seeing the pounds drop on the scale already but looking forward to having some oomph back LOL
  4. I had the TORe procedure on Monday 5/15 and I’m still having some discomfort and pain but the nausea and vomiting have subsided. I can’t wait to see the results.

How many calories do you eat a day?

Thank you so much for sharing. I agree that I need to understand the true needs of my body when it comes to protein. I've broken the stall this week and I think it was because I (unintentionally) dropped dairy the past couple days and stepped up the movement/exercise along with water. I'm just relieved to see the scale moving again! My protein dropped to averaging 60 grams instead of 75. Could be on to something!

How many calories do you eat a day?

Thank you, this helps!! I still use a protein bar or shake and I want to get used to eating more real food. Appreciate you sharing!

How many calories do you eat a day?

I’m having a hard time getting in my 75 ounces of protein. What does a typical day look like for you? I’d love some new ideas for ways to get up to 85 or 90 grams!!

    March Bypass Buddies

Thank you! Appreciate you sharing. This is definitely not a sprint and I’m in it for the long haul. Figuring out how this body works at my age is definitely a daily learning experience. 😌
  11. Went from a DD to D and now C. I haven’t worn a C cup since 6th grade. This is a bit hard for me.

    March Bypass Buddies

Stalled again at almost 5 months out. For about 2 1/2 weeks so far. I'm 50 pounds down but wishing this stall hadnt hit now. Onederland is only 22 pounds away and I'm feeling discouraged. Not really sure the best thing to do so I'm going back to supplementing my mini meals with protein shakes and ~700 calories per day. At least for a few days. I admit my water intake has been poor over the past 2 weeks and I will push to ensure I get my 64-72 in today. Does anyone have any other ideas for stall busters???

    30 lbs loss

I’ve lost a little over 50 and I’m seeing friends this weekend that haven’t noticed. Or if they have didn’t say a word.

I had my Gastric Bypass reversed 😞

Alex, sending prayers for complete and quick healing!
  15. I had my highest carb day today too and it was mostly all sugar. I’m 3 1/2 months out and ordered a Starbucks coffee that had 160 calories. I logged it and THEN after tasting it thought wow this is pretty sweet. It had 30 grams of sugar!!! I had no dumping and really no ill effects. I kind of wish I did!
  16. 12 weeks out from surgery and wondering what the exercise routines of my other over 50 friends look like. I've increased exercise gradually over the last 3 weeks and I'm hitting what appears to be another stall. Anyone have any advice??? I know for the peri-menopausal/menopausal metabolism (even with surgery) it's a miracle that our bodies are letting go of any of this weight so I'm trying to remain postive. Thanks in advance for sharing!
  17. I'm curious about what others may be eating at about 7 weeks out from surgery. I'm around 700 calories per day with a 50% protein 20% fat 30% carb ratio. I had a revision from sleeve to RNY and after the initial 20 pounds lost the rest is coming off extremely slowly. Its hard to get the 75-90 grams of protein in without relying on 2 shakes a day. I'm looking for tips on what to eat to get my protein in with eating 3-4 small meals per day. (1/2 a shake or no shake if possible) Thanks in advance for sharing!

    revision

Because of a lot of scar tissue and adhesions from previous surgery my sleeve to bypass took about 4 hours. I stayed 2 nights and recovery at home was 4 weeks. Although, I could have gone back to work sooner!! Good luck!
  19. Omg CindeeAt, I had exactly the same experience as you. Once I hit 6 weeks out it started coming off slowly again. It IS the most frustrating thing I’ve dealt with. But if you follow your surgeon/nutritionist ‘s guidelines your body catch up!!!

    March Bypass Buddies

7 1/2 weeks out and 31 down. I had a 2 1/2 week stall at 3 weeks out. Then very slow progression. I started working out with a trainer last week and seeing body changes but the scale is slooooooooow!

    50 pounds lost-scale

I have a Nokia/Withings scale that pairs well with the LoseIt app that I use for food and exercise tracking. I find the Lose It app very easy to use and helpful with tracking macros and Protein and Water intake. The scale measure body fat and heart rate as well.
  22. Thanks so much. The water exercise is the best thing that has happened to me. I broke through my plateau after starting regular water exercise!! Thank you for the encouragement!!
  23. Hi Allie! Thanks so much! Sounds like we’re in somewhat similar situations. I did just this past week start with aqua therapy. My knee doctor got me into physical therapy and it’s all underwater. They even have underwater treadmills. It’s so cool. I’m looking forward to next week already. I have been able to walk and build some muscle around the worst knee. It’s definitely helping. I also got the cortisone and gel injections but they stopped working for me. 😟 Thanks again!
  24. @FluffyChix was right! A laxative and a 1 pound drop in weight today. Now if I can just do that again! I can feel and see the lower tummy is not as bloated as yesterday but I still need to go more. I'm a MiraLax once a day kind of girl from now on I think. (Doc's suggestion) I also see a physical therapist today to start underwater aquatic exercise so that should help my situation too! Hope everyone is having a good Friday. Keep up the good fight!
  25. How are the other slow losers doing today? I went up .6 of a pound today and feel bloated in my lower belly. Realized I need to take a laxative as it's been a few days. (Sorry for TMI) Hoping that gets me to feeling better. I am feeling a little depressed and could use a boost.
