My surgery is the 18th at 9:15. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. This will be my 8th surgery and I get afraid thinking "how many times can I roll the dice?" My sleep apnea has gotten alot worse in the last year. I started my 3 day liquid preop diet and I'm starving! HELP!

Okay, I keep looking at the clock thinking "this time tomorrow it will be over!" Now if I could just sleep until then. Anything to get rid of these nerves! I've had three c-sections and another abdominal surgery, and of these, had general anesthesia twice. I know that I handle it well, and I know this is less of a risk than my other surgeries. I just keep feeling total terror that I'm going to die and leave my three children without a mother. My stomach is in knots ... well, I guess a good clean out isn't a bad thing ...

UGH. Hurry up and get here tomorrow so I can get it over with!!

jewlee, I had the same fears. I have 3 little ones at home, too...I know how you're feeling.

It'll all be over with before you know it...thats how i felt, "just get it over with already" ...

You'll do fine! you'll do great!

I totally feel the same way!!

BE DONE!!!!!!!!!

I too have done the looking at the clock thinking by this time tomorrow I'll be awake and recovering...

GET HERE ALREADY!

I start clear liquids tomorrow too. Surgery at 12:30 on Tuesday. Today hasn't been too bad. Been keeping busy. For some reason I've had this incredible urge to organize the last couple of weeks. Today got everything in order where I'll want it when I come home on Wednesday. (Have to stay overnight due to my 3 hr. ride home.)

I'll be off work tomorrow so will be checking in and whining about my lack of food.

JC2008.....I am having surgery Wednesday and Dr. Lavin is my surgeon. Where are you from? I live in LaPlace. Do you ever attend the support groups?

I am from Slidell and I havent been to any support groups. I just kind of decided to do this and went and got it scheduled. Trying not to think too much about it until after my surgery :)

Hi Ellisa!

They moved up my surgery. It was at 12:30, now it's 9:15. I'll be thinking about you on Tuesday.....I hope everything goes well.

Hi Everyone,

I'm on count down I have my Lap band done Tues 18th, Excited and nervous at the same time :) Went today and Stocked up on fluids for my new start in life. Here goes nothing!! Neeners

I am on the final hours before surgery. I have to be at the hospital at 11:30 tomorrow morning with surgery shortly after 1. I am so ready for this and yet am having second thoughts. But, I have worked really hard, just like all of us, to get to this point and so am going to go through with it.

I just want to wish everybody being banded in the near future the very best of luck.

12 hours and I'll be done. Please let these 12 hours hurry by!!

I'm so angry at my husband right now. I talked to him about wanting to keep quiet about this; I don't want the pressure, don't want everyone judging me ... and I walk into the room and he's talking to his mom. Oh, she says she'll buy me a new wardrobe when I've lost the weight. Oh gee, thanks. I haven't even told MY mom ... but thanks so much for telling yours ... and along the line, your sisters, and their kids ... and the neighbors. I'm really upset right now. I was upset anyway; said goodbye to my kids and dropped them at a friend's house. They don't even know what's going on! (They will tomorrow after the surgery.)

Anyway ... just a nervous angry vent. 11 hours and 55 minutes to go now.

Hi Free Bird,

It will all be fine and you'll be on your way to your new Beginnings, Its pretty normal to have second thoughts on any surgery, the unknown is scary sometimes. I keep telling myself the same thing.

Good luck to you and everyone who's getting there lap band soon!

I go in on Wednesday morning. uber early.

I still have so much I need to do. I am at work trying to figure out when to get it all done. lol I should be working. lol

Frisky,

That's awesome about your surgery time! I don't know if I would want mine any earlier. It's at 12:30, but I have to be there at 9:30 a.m. and live 3 hours away. So we'll probably leave about 5:30 a.m. so DH can get something to eat on the way.

Well aren't we all a basket of nerves? LOL

Actually the only thing I'm nervous about is not messing up on my Clear liquids. So far it hasn't been too bad. strawberry SF Jello for Breakfast. chicken broth for snack... Oh my what shall I have for lunch... beef broth?

I too have so many things I want to get done before I leave. I think I have everything packed except my makeup. Probably packed too much stuff. But oh well. I'm also making sure I have a pillow and blanket & liquids for the ride home. I'm on pureed the day after, so slim fast and pudding should be okay. I'll also have some bottled Water. Oh that reminds me, I'll need to put some plastic spoons in the cooler.

We brought a comfy cushy recliner to the living room yesterday. It's been in a spare bedroom for a few years now because it doesn't match the rest of the furniture. But it's in good shape and I will love having my feet propped up in it. It's sitting right next to the fireplace. Hey, I might think about buying a slip cover for it and leaving it here permanently. The color really isn't bad, it's the style. Not sure what a slip cover will do for that.

I'm rambling...
