No restriction after fill, could she have missed?

Recommended Posts

So I have a regular Dr I go to for fills, however to get an appointment takes months of waiting and I drive 4 hrs to see him. I had an appointment for the end of Jan but I just couldn't wait. So I decided to go to another place for a fill that was closer but more expensive, but they could get me in the same week. Well the lady who did the fill used flouro but had a hard time fining my port (even though I can feel it with my fingers and light pressure) She moved the needle around and took about ten minutes to get it "stuck" in the right place. She took all the liquid out cause I didn't know how much was there. Well she then added .5 because I asked her to be aggressive, (I've gained weight.) Well its now a few days later and I have no restriction, could she have missed when she filled it back up, I don't think she took the needle out, so is that even possible. I have less tighness then before I went in. Is is appropiate to ask for a refill again, would I have to pay again. I'm just looking for personal opinions.:help:

Would you really want to go back to her if she did indeed loose your fill for you? Just a thought.

I know my 2nd and 3rd fills were close together, a week apart, because I felt like the 2nd one didn't add any restriction (.2cc in a 4cc band that already had 1cc in it). Also partially my fault because I told him to be conservative as my first fill made me really tight. So he erred on the side of caution. So on my 3rd fill the Dr pulled out what was in there, 1.2cc and added an extra .8cc. At 2cc I found restriction the same evening.

So you could have a case of a lost fill or just not enough of a fill. Personally, I stick to the same doctor; he did my surgery and continues to do my fills.

I almost never feel a fill until 5-7 days after it happens. Sounds weird, but it takes mine a while to kick in! Sounds like you should go back to your reg doc. Why the long wait for a fill? That sounds really crazy! My doc always gets you in within the week you call! Anyone else around you who does fills?

Yes, I agree with you rharriet. my surgeon only does fills on tuesdays. i've called a couple of days before my fills and i get right in. i'm sorry to hear that most you guys do not have your surgeon doing the fills. it sounds so frustrating.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
