I'm hoping for September for me, so I'll be right behind y'all, asking a ton of questions. (Hope you always wanted an annoying little sister! ?)

Huge huge thank you for this, it has really helped, so glad you are doing well xx

No problem at all and thanks!

I think my experience was quite average. You can also have a look at the July 2021 thread for some more surgery stories. Some have had more challenges than others but overall it seems to be a very safe and tolerable experience ? It definitely eased my mind to read everyone's experiences here as well.

I just got my sleeve done august 4th. So glad it’s finally done I’ve been waiting since October 2020 was my first appointment!! Any questions on how it feels after ask me !! It’s a bit rough for me it was and I’m still in major pain, but it’s getting better by the day …good luck to everyone!!

Had the VSG on the 4th, was in and out of the surgical center in under 11 hours. No gas pain and I've been keeping water and clear protein drinks down without nausea. Lots of sipping, doesn't take more than 3 to feel chest pressure. I'm still surprised this is going so well. I was supposed to take Lyrica, Tylenol and Ibuprofen on a scheduled for pain; I've mostly taken Ibuprofen since Tylenol doesn't do much for me and Lyrica is a no-go. I had 1 oxy yesterday, none today. Worst is the incision by the navel which affects how I sit or turn. The only thing bugging me is difficulty finding words and choosing similar but incorrect words when I speak. It was my first time receiving anesthesia and it was rough in recovery. The surgery practice has a great protocol to manage pain and nausea before surgery.

I was out and about for the past 2 days without any issues. No food cravings or hunger, I spent the morning showing off my baking skills to out of town guests. I was on my feet all day without feeling tired. There is some really great food around me but I don't feel like I'm missing out.

Good luck to everyone having metabolic surgery this month.

I'm the 18th as well!

I'm very excited but also a bit nervous. Still going back and forth wether this is the right choice for me.
I know I'll probably never lose the weight without the surgery, but I'm afraid I'll fall back into old habits after having the surgery. Is anybody else having these doubt/concerns?

Hi muffin. X I just had my surgery 3 days ago & yes I got all the to the hospital on my surgery day & almost walked out! I have gone back and forth for almost 2 years with us this right decision for me. I had 1 final talk with God and he explained to me that he needs me at my healthiest for the assignments that he has for me in future! It's ok to have doubts and fears. Do a pros/cons list, analyze, pray on then let us what you decided. I hope my testimony helps you ?

Greetings, all. I've completed all the pre-op screenings and appointments and based on the timelines I was given I expected my sleeve surgery to take place in mid-September. But, my surgeon had a cancellation and is able to get me in on August 17th!

I jumped at the chance get this journey started and as a bonus I got to cut 4 days off the dreaded two week pre-op liquid diet. I'm also blessed to have my two teenagers out of the house (at sleep away camp) while I do the LD, which will make it MUCH easier, not having to shop and cook for them. My husband is on his own!

Aug 23rd and sorta nervous about the pre-week liquid diet. 4 protein shakes a day.......give me strength!

How are all the early August surgeries going!? I had mine aug it’s 4th and I’ve seen so many with similar dates. Hope everyone is doing well pre op and post op. I’m still in major pain 3 days after..one specific incision is hurting a lot, but I’ve finally starting taking in more protein shakes and some sherbet etc. lmk how you guys are doing !
