I love hearing NSVs. With us all being around the same time, I can relate to a lot of it. I'll share a couple of my own...

My work pants are getting too big. If I wasn't wearing an extra insulating layer underneath them, I could probably pull them off without unbuttoning. LOL

I'm noticing a single chin when I smile. Yay!

I tried on my REAL wedding ring yesterday and it goes on without forcing. It's not LOOSE, but I was able to slip it on. I've been wearing a silver band since I got too heavy for my ring (it made my finger hurt!). Now when I'm not at work and don't have to worry about the setting, I can wear my real wedding ring. :clap2:

Oh, I forgot one. I wear 8" boots for work. Before I started this journey, if I wore thick socks, I couldn't zip the boots up all the way and I even would have a struggle with the thin socks. Now I can easily zip the boots up over my cankles even with thick socks! I love it.

Good for you, Steph!

I have a top that I bought online several months ago that I loved but it was too snug. Now it fits! I'm wearing it tomorrow! :)

OOOHH, LOVE the thread!!

Down two pants sizes!!

The doc said my pants looked baggy! ha, had to laugh at that one.

Going to the doctor and actually being happy to be weighed!

Going from level two to level eight on the recumbent bike.

Way more energy to play with my son!

Interest in actually living life again!! (and perhaps getting pg again someday - something I didn't want to ever do again due to lack of energy - sssh, I didn't tell you that)

Linda

My pants that have always been TOO tight, are baggy, Wohoo Time to go into the closet and get a smaller size.

On a sad note,,,, My Boobs are getting smaller darnit.

I've noticed that two pairs of paints that I wear to work are getting really big. I've been pulling them almost up to my bra to make them stay one. It's either time to ge a few new pair or buy a belt. I don't have all kinds of money to be spending every time I go down a size.

I went to the back of my closet and found a pair of jeans I haven't been able to wear in about 3-4 years. They were a size 18W. It doesn't matter if they are a stretchy jean, I got them zipped and I wore them all day! Much better than the 22-24's I was wearing this summer! All my other dress pants and clothes I wear to work are falling off me.

I think the fact that we're having NSV's and being barely a month out of surgery is a NSV in itself! I mean, how many diets have you guys been on where you didn't see any dramatic improvement - or it took so durn long to lose anything, you couldn't remember what you looked like to begin with? We all kick butt!

I wanted to ask what NSV stand for if you do not mind....LOL

I am imagining it is noticeible wieght changes. I have gone down two pant sizes and am wearing shirts I have not had on in a very long time. Woo Hoo so exciting.

I actually have size 16 clothes in my closet because I had gotten down that small before this last huge wieght gain I did over 2 1/2 years.

I am excited about wearing them again.......and even surpassing that size in a year.

COngratulations to us all for our huge achievements already!!

You're right! It stands for "non-scale victory." :P

I'm hoping for some NSVs today as I need to go through my clothes and pack up summer clothes and unpack winter clothes. I've kept all sizes down to size 10 when I lost weight four years ago. I'm nowhere near a 10 but I'm hoping maybe a few things will fit that I haven't been able to wear for awhile. I've already been wearing some things that technically fit before but didn't look good. I'm not as lumpy as I was before the surgery so I can wear them now. :P

:P Well now I can wear the clothes I outgrew last winter. Now I have a bunch of size 24-26 that are too big and I'm not going to keep them!:P

Love hearing them, guys, keep it up. It's really encouraging.

My work pants now are able to be pulled down (and UP!) without unbuttoning and even with my extra insulating layer. LOL My goal, though, will be to hold onto them until I hit "overweight" with my BMI. That'll be my reward...new, skinnier work pants! :P

My pants are loose, although, I don't really think I've gone down a pants-size, YET. My shirts are a lot longer....if you're like me, you spend a lot of time pulling shirts down to cover everything up. I haven't been doing that at all lately. My wedding/engagement rings are no longer tight. My greatest NSV is my face is much thinner. I have a picture of me taken the day of my surgery, and took one 2 days of ago of me and my youngest son, and there is a marked difference. That makes me so happy. I have been so self-conscious about my face, chins and neck, and I love seeing the improvement so soon.

Keep going....this is all so exciting!

I love reading everyone else's NSV's!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
