To echo what VSGJen said, I was also advised against Advil. Also against Ibuprofen, Motrin, Naprosyn and Aleve. These Meds put you at high risk for ulcers. I was advised to stick to Tylenol for pain. Perhaps risk is reduced with Sleeve. Not sure.
Best check with your doc.

Thank you! My surgeon prescribed the liquid ibuprofen for me.

Yes the gas pain and constipation were the worst! They also had to go back in and do an endoscopy through my incisions the day after surgery. I had a horrible experience, but feel like that is all almost behind me.

I’m starting to notice my shirts fitting better.

Very sorry to hear this. My surgery was 3/25 so I’m in week 3 as well. Hopefully you can get better and get home. Positive vibes sent!

So now I’m almost 2 weeks post op on Wednesday, feeling a little soreness in my belly area kinda near my belly button. It’s annoying, anyone else experiencing this annoying pain and what it could be? Wanna reach out to y’all before asking my doctor bc I feel like I’ve asked him a million question since my surgery lol. Any feedback would be appreciated ?

Just going into week 3 now too. I’m so sorry to hear this. Although so far I feel relatively fine after the gastric bypass, I’m not unfamiliar to post op complications from major surgery so I can relate. Hope you get some relief and resolution to your situation soon! ?

My first thought was that you’re perhaps trying to be more active and/or lifting things you shouldn’t. You shouldn’t be lifting anything over 10 Ibs for 6 weeks. But if you’re following advice, perhaps some incisions are taking longer than others to heal. When my steri strips came off, after week 1, all incisions were healed with the exception of one which was slightly open and more sore. It’s closed and healed now. When you have your surgeon follow up appointment, if the pain hasn’t resolved then , bring it up. But if it’s keeping you up at night and making you uncomfortable all the time, I’d bring up now.

Hey Mike I hope your feeling better. I feel I’m right behind you I think I’m dehydrated have been feeling bad for the last couple of days. Can’t get my protein in or my liquids tomorrow I’m going to call the doctors office.

I almost said the same thing about regretting my decision. Week 2 and 3 were very difficult. I had complications I did not expect. To make things worse, I did everything I was told to do and I STILL had complications. I too ended up in the ER after surgery. In general I think preparing us more for the potential complications and even the likelihood of needing continued IVF and oxygen would have been appropriate. I have very few comorbidities which is why I was so surprised when I needed to go home on oxygen from the hospital.

Despite the complications and a terrible recovery I am glad I went through with it. I know the lifelong benefits of losing this weight will add quality to my life.

I hope you are feeling better. Hang in there. I'm so sorry you are going through this.

Ended up in er after passing out from dehydration I’m on iv fluids also I was put on oxygen and I was on purée stage can’t even get food down even when I went to my appointment I felt soo dizzy I literally pass out I regret having this sleeve surgery I wasn’t prepared mentally and 3 weeks post op wondering if it will get better please guys I’m hoping and praying been crying everyday wish I had my old stomach back but what’s done is done I have to take another month out from work I told my surgeon what happen I see him this week what I told him what percent of stomach u remove he said 60 percent that’s not bad but still not well good luck eveyone who successfully had there sleeve and bypass

I had surgery on 3/18. Gastric Sleeve. Weight before surgery was 436. After liquid diet and day before surgery, I was 394. Almost 4 weeks out now, Thursday will be 4 weeks, and I weighed 342.6 this morning. I have no had any issues with nausea or vomiting. I had gas for a few days after but it quickly subsided. The pain has been the worse. Today, out of nowhere, I felt a pop down there and magically all the pain has disappeared. Fearing the worse, I called and went and got a sonogram today. Everything is fine and I am finally pain free. My biggest issue is liquids. I can drink the water and everything but all this sugar free stuff tastes like absolute crap. It's killing me.
