    Any April 2021 surgeries?!

Mine was over the phone with a nurse. They basically went over what to do or not do before surgery. No solid food after midnight day before surgery, I was prescribed an anti nausea medication to take 3 hours before surgery with 2 extra strength Tylenol and Gatorade and to not have anything at all after 2 hours prior to surgery. They told me where to go to check in, etc. and basically gave me the run down of what to expect. They're sure I knew what surgery I was having and that I had support at home. All I'm all it was more informative than anything. Best of luck!

    Any March Surgeries?

Thank you! I appreciate the kind advice. My surgeon prescribed the advil for me in liquid form to take alternating with the Tylenol.

    Hey March surgery folks

I just had my surgery this past Monday, 3/29. Mine was in the afternoon so I didn't really wake up fully from anesthesia til sometime in the middle of the night, but got right up and walked around the floor. I was so thirsty and had the driest mouth, but fortunately I had no problem at all with water. I went home the next day after drinking my protein shake without issue. I have had some soreness on my right side but if I stay on top of Tylenol and advil, I've been comfortable for the most part. I'm still tolerating fluids and shakes ok, but find sometimes I drink too fast and will get a spasm. I do have an rx for spasms, but I think I really just need to slow down. I'm drinking 2 protein shakes a day and getting my fluids in. I feel mostly fine, but I am still a little tired and have to remember I'm still healing and to take it easy. I am very encouraged having lost 19 lbs between my preop diet and my surgery.

    Any March Surgeries?

I had my sleeve done this past Monday the 29th. Tolerated water and shakes very well. Mostly felt tired. Tylenol and Advil for the most part are managing the discomfort, but I have to remind myself to take it easy. I'm doing well on the liquid diet, but find sometimes I'm drinking too fast and it causes discomfort, but all and all I feel things are going well. With my 2 week preop diet and 5 days post surgery I am down 19 pounds and very pleased!

    What is your why?

When I turned 45 this year I realized that my weight was limiting my ability to do the things I want to do. Life is short and I want to live my life to the fullest. Aside from being overweight I am healthy, but I know if I stay as overweight as I am, that won't be the case for very long.

    Any March 2021 Sleeve Patients?

I am not worried, but I did ask my surgeon about this since I take extended release capsules. He said the hospital pharmacist would switch me to a twice daily non-XR pill that I can crush up and take in the beginning and eventually go back to what I normally take. My surgery date is 3/29/21
