Amtrak/Train Travel after roux en Y

I’m curious if anyone has traveled by train after roux en Y. I may want to take an 8 hour train ride by myself to visit my daughter about 4-6 weeks after surgery. I find the train much more comfortable than driving to see her. I don’t fly at all. Does that sound reasonable? I will ask my doctor of course but curious to know if anyone had this experience. Thanks.

  • You will be fine to travel by train 4-6 weeks after surgery! You would be fine to do it 2 weeks after if you wanted to do so. Good luck!!!

That sounds great. Then I just need to pack stage appropriate snacks. I only am curious cause my daughter is expecting and the fetus needs surgery for a bladder issue. I might want to go be with her if only for moral support.

I agree - should be fine
