That's what I like to hear, you don't miss it. When I was off sugar except for natural sugar in an occasional piece of fruit, I did not miss it. I eat sweet stuff more often now, and I have to make myself not give in too often. I'm logging again and my sugar grams per day are sometimes single digit! Thank you!

I had to get myself away from artificial sweeteners too. Before the WLS I was addicted to diet coke. I weaned myself off of it a few months before the surgery. Now I wouldn't even try to take a sip of it. I was so afraid I would crave it, and I honestly don't.

Its been 2 1/2 years since my revision. Love the RNY so much better. My weight has been stable for over a year now closer to 2 years i would say. So all total i am over 5 years out from this journey and as far as the weight loss goes it was everything and more.

I still have GERD ugh

I’m just here to validate that yes, revision in my experience was much more painful than sleeve!

What do you think about the weight loss end so far? What part of Missouri are you in? I am in Springfield.

My revision was virtually painless. I had no pain, no problems, no side effects and the restriction is everything I have always wanted. My surgeon was excellent though. I wasn't even in the hospital 24 hrs.

Weight loss is slower than sleeve but I’m still ahead of the curve according to my surgeon’s office. -80 in 5.5 months with 75 to lose still.

I’m in Saint Louis but both of my surgeries were in Kansas City where I lived when I started the sleeve journey. I was so comfortable with that office I went back for the revision instead of seeking a STL provider. I do follow with the Mercy system support group though! I know they have a Springfield location of that group too. 🥳

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
