I am a little confused. I had lap band surgery on 3/17 and saw the doctor 7 days after surgery and had X-rays taken and she said everything looks good and scheduled my next appt 3 months out. I thought the doctor was supposed to tighten the band. Am I wrong? So far I haven’t had any issues and lost 24 pounds since I scheduled surgery. The two weeks of Protein Shakes before the surgery definitely helped.

i have been banded since 2009, got down to about 130, and am now around 145, I haven't been to the surgery center since probably 2016. I just made an appointment today to be seen the middle of July with a new practice because my old dr moved way off. Wish me luck and pray they dont find any problems and I just need a fill

I've had the band for over 10 years... I was cheating on the first one and had to have it emergency removed. I went from 350 down to 180; got it removed and was back up to 300 in no time (I was being really good too! I swear) Then I got a new one that is more forgiving and went from 300 down to 230 which is my current weight. I love that its pretty simple and I'm never hungry and have to remember to eat! Anyone feel free to reach out to me with any questions etc.. I'd love to talk to other banders about how/what they are able to eat and stuff.

Never hungry? I wish I had that problem. I am always hungry, but I refuse to eat more than twice a day. I also consume lots of Protein at both meals. I lost 28 lbs in 3 months. For some reason, my doctor is on leave and I haven't been able to get a fill, but I have an appointment, at the end of the month. I hope that helps with me feeling hungry all the time. I am pretty much able to eat everything except Bagels, scrambled or fried eggs, and kale, other than that - I am good. I haven't had rice in 3 months, but I am not sure if it will make me sick.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
