PS - Forgot to add I had a fight with my iPad last night & lost. Was trying to stretch out my sore elbows while reading in bed & lost hold of the iPad. Bang straight onto my face. Waaaah! The corner slammed into my lip. I now have a very unattractive, swollen bruise on my lower lip. 😢

omg, I know how you feel...I've dropped an iPad (or phone) or two on my face on more than one occasion.

Ouch!

I forgot that surgery can mess with your hormones/mentrual cycle

Yup, mines is definitely messed up. I woke up this morning to a surprise. The worst part of it was that I ran out of pads 🙄

My bf rushed to the store for me while I was in the shower so I wouldn't be late for this mornings meeting.

Hello cramps...

I've had some pretty good sx in the past and i would have to say... Partial hysterectomy was a great one....

My TT was wayyyyyyyy back in 2012...... don't worry you guys the swelling goes away... just keep wearing the compression. I drank a sh!t ton of pineapple juice. I want to say a good 4 months before my stomach was flat... SX was March 2012 and by July i was rocking a bikini for the first time in over 20 years.

My husband and i were talking about a BL the other day and i thought.... man it would be nice to have them high and tight.... but i don't want the pain and the chance of them coming out all funky.... so, for now, they are what they are.... a 32G....

Someone needs to start a topic on ....... These old bones..... where we can all gripe about a$$ bones and such.... hehehehehe

Thank you! There is light at the end of this swollen tunnel 😅

I was trying to drink straight pineapple juice but its so sweet I have to cut it with Water, and o feel like its defeating the purpose

My Tatas were no where near your size when i went for the lift but they needed serious reconstruction. They came out beautifully I was so surprised.

Save that sx for a raining day emergency especially since you are in mint condition💚

Your swelling at 5 weeks is like half of mine! I may have to go find some bromelain supplements (the enzyme in pineapple juice) as the I think I will likely dump if I drink the juice straight.

P.S. you are so lucky that you kept your butt throughout the weight loss! va-va-voom...

Am I the only one who read that as “I’ve had some pretty good s*x in the past”? Lord cleanse my mind 🤦🏻‍♀️

Anyways as far as pineapple juice goes have either one of you @ms.sss @GreenTealael tried pineapple Water? When my step mom is bloated she will boil pineapple cinnamon sticks and cloves and then drink it cold, sometimes even hot. You can add a sweetener or not but it usually helps her. Not the same as being swollen from surgery but maybe it could work ?

Oh and @BayougirlMrsS you look hot!

I've generally been feeling good, and in anticipation of getting cleared for free-reign exercise this afternoon at my 6 wk PS post op appt, I put on my running shoes (not boots this time) and a nice solid sports bra for a real RUN around the neighbourhood for the first time in a looooooooong time.

Result: Running Fail.

I barely did 2km and had to stop cuz my boobs started to ache again. Dammit.

It's been about 30 mins since that stupid run and my boobs still hurt. What was I thinking. Geez.

You'll get there babe! Think major surgery. Minor setbacks. Amazing things yet to accomplish when the bod is ready.

...this is actually a good idea. I've read that the enzyme with the anti-inflammatoriy properties are concentrated in the stem of the pineapple,so maybe I can boil that part...?

...will research some more, thanks for the tip!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
