Any Dec surgeries out there??

I will be having surgery 12/13/19 :) As it's getting closer, I'm getting more nervous. I will be having my surgery at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center in Mooresville NC. Dr. Brendan Marr is my surgeon :) Any tips on how to not be so nervous, so I can get some sleep lol[emoji23] [emoji16]

Monday, December 16 for me with a RNY. I'm on day 13 of the pre surgury liquid diet. Just finished my last day of work for the year. Got all my vitamins and post surgery protein mixes. I'm a bit anxious, which is normal, but looking forward to getting on the other side of this.

I just got my call last week and all approvals have come through. I already met out of pocket max earlier this year due to a knee injury so my WLS Team are being amazing and found a way to get me in before end of year when my plan rolls over. So 12/30 is the date... New Years present for me.

I have been working towards this for awhile but it is still such a shock that it is actually happening. Setting the date really took it out of the hypothetical and dropped it right square into reality.
I wish all you December folks the best.

My fiance is getting it done 12/16 and then it's my turn on 12/23!

I'm going in tomorrow, 12/17. I'm feeling a little panicky and am hoping I'm doing the right thing. I'm more concerned about making it through surgery at this point. I know the odds are "ever in my favor", but I worry about my daughter if something happened to me.

All legit concerns and it comes with the territory. Surgery is scary and the permanency of this surgery adds to the anxiety. Know that you are doing this for your health and so that your daughter WILL have you around longer. Focusing on the health aspects eases my mind about the permanency - perhaps look to that if you are overcome. I'm betting by the time you see this, you will be recovering and a few days post-op! Best of luck! I go in for surgery tomorrow! We can commiserate our recovery together!

Best,

Red

I had my surgery December 4th! I hope you have a speedy recovery.
