What to say to Dr?

I am meeting with family Dr this morning and want to ask him for a referral for surgery. So nervous he will say no. How did you approach your Dr? What did you say?

  • I just went straight to the surgeon, didn't get a referral from my primary care doctor. The surgeon offered free seminars about WLS and you just attended, then applied, then went through the process.

No Big Thing if you're London- centric , it is a Fabulous Place and is Still on my Bucket List to absorb the Essence of Someday!

I was approved for WLS in 2005 and backed out 3 week from surgery date. I was scared and heard a lot of negative things. My weight has yo yoed since. I have asthma, high BP, sleep apnea, had knee surgery and constant back pain. I was also borderline diabetic. The surgeon who performed my gall bladder removal in Nov. 2018 suggested I reconsider WLS again. I attended his seminar and met with my PCP who pushed the Paleo diet to all of her patients. I tried it and was unsuccessful, she said she supported my decision and the rest of the process was easy. I have a great team, my PCP, surgeon and nutritionist were all helpful and supportive of my surgery.

And may YOU make Goal and live life better, thinner and with less of you pushing down on your joints, with diminished pain. Don't have the BP but have a recently discovered Thoracic Aorta Aneurysm, stable but still lurking somewhere in my chest, otherwise we are SoulSisters in ailments, but my Testimony-- the pain drops down to more manageble, you move better if still a turtle? pace and most iMPORTANT- you do feel better and face Life with new vigor. as in London, Ontario? Are you out of the GTA? (I had a choice of Humber or Toronto Western...chose Humber: better parking options)

No ms. London England Sorry if Ive replies twice to this , I’m not finding my way round here very well ?

I brought it up once and my PCP said “ sure... I’m ok with it” and then moved on to the pre surgery process/seminar.
