    Pain Under left Boob ?

So I think it can vary greatly depending on your history and when you had surgery.

    Pain Under left Boob ?

I just had my follow up and they are having me start back on Prilosec then follow up in 3 weeks. They believe it could be acid lower in the digestive system or an ulcer.

    Pain Under left Boob ?

I’m not a year but 9 months and have started having this. And it’s always after I eat. Once or twice during yoga but not strenuous exercise. As if the stretching irritates it. I do think I notice it from eating too fast but plan on checking with the dr when I have my follow up.
  4. I just ate an Oreo. Then I ate the filling out of a few more to kill the crave. To be fair the rest of the house has finished a few packs now so I just wanted one but I figured if I was going to do it, may as well do it right and make myself a little nauseated from it😆 So much for my zero net carbs day. Guess I will try again tomorrow. Lol
  5. So I just had to put this somewhere because I have to say the first 80-85 came off quick. These last 15 not so much. I have been in a stall since Thanksgiving going down and up a few at a time while allowing myself to live a little and have some holiday treats. Got most everything out of the house, got my butt to the gym, started tracking carefully again and today finally weighed in at 100 down. Will be 8 months post 2/4 and I would say most of the work is on me at this point. I can absolutely overeat right now if I eat the wrong things. Just making that statement for anyone who is out there wondering what restriction may look like at this point. It’s there but I certainly have to choose right. No more “free ride” LOL
  6. Thanks all! I was down another 2 today. Man does it feel good breaking a stall. Woohooo!
  7. I’ve had a few ask me but I just tell them I did keto/low carb, which is basically the truth. I didn’t tell anyone but family.
  8. I agree. The husband didn’t care for it but he didn’t dislike it enough to make his own, so he will live.
  9. My opinion being unsolicited bc Im VSG, I’m still commenting. Dumping aside, just stomach real estate considered, at 7 months I don’t suspect I will ever eat a plate of spaghetti again. And I’m glad. I didn’t do this so I could go back to eating that much. I can have a bite or two at this point and be very satisfied and full but not “sick.” I can’t speak to “dumping” but I do get pretty ill from sugar. I used edamame pasta last time I made spaghetti and I liked it. Everyone else tolerated it🤣
  10. Sounds like some grade A mental illness. I’m sorry you’re putting up with such hateful things from your mom but I understand trying to keep a relationship with a family member who doesn’t realize how badly they hurt you.

    Food Before and After Photos

I wondered the same thing. And I agree. No syrup on my salad. Ever. Thanks. But it looked great until I knew it was syrupy kale🤣😂

    Food Before and After Photos

lunch at my desk. I know that meat isn’t lean but it needs to be eaten with these giant olives. No judgement. Lol And I still mentally think I can eat way more than I can. Which is a nice change from the olden days🤣

    Non Scale Victories

Shopping in ladies instead of “women’s” or plus sizes. And finding a lot of things that fit. Sitting with my legs crossed in the car and everywhere else because it’s completely comfortable. Wearing a normal gown at the hospital when I had gallbladder removal last week. I do enjoy these little moments of relief and satisfaction every time they pop up during day to day life.

No protein shakes 1st week post op??

So are you only on clears then? I’ve heard of this but I only did clears day 1. Every surgeon is different I guess.

    Over Night Stay

Someone here recommended an extra long charging cord. I’m glad. It was great so I didn’t have to get up or move much at first. I didn’t use much. I worked from my phone the same night.

    December 2019 Sleeves

Sure:) I healed well and have a pretty good tolerance for pain so pain wasn’t an issue at all. I felt great after the first week and was off my pain meds. I was hungry and wanted to eat real food, not liquids. I also have a family of boys who ate what they wanted as normal in front of me. I’m not someone who expected or asked anyone to modify their behavior in support of me so everyone will have a different opinion on this. I didn’t expect to feel hungry so soon so I never asked them to be mindful. I was grouchy and irritated and sometimes even felt sad or somewhat “left out”. I’m a huge joker so I made fun of my sad options like a shake or broth while they would have pizza or whatever. I also didn’t do much cooking at all because it was super hard. Smelling real food made me insane. Once I got to solid foods it was downhill and much easier. I follow protein first rule. No carbonation. Drink my water/liquids. And usually only choose the healthiest options. Plus I avoid carbs. I do have a bite of them here and there so I don’t fall off the wagon and binge carby junk but my diet is quite different now. And I’m very satisfied. I’ve adjusted to this lifestyle and am very happy with it. Plus the results have reinforced my choices so it’s helped keep me on track. I’m happy for you! Best of luck

    Head hunger post op!!

Oh yea that’s what people call it for sure I just think it’s a deceptive term. The desire to eat junk isn’t hunger. But you still are hungry. It’s hard as heck and I was the same with salad. I was sleeved in the heat of summer and was DYING for a cool crispy salad. I was able to eat it about 6 weeks in, I think. It’s funny, it all seemed like an eternity back then but once you’re on solids, it goes much quicker. Liquids was the worst for me. God willing I will never be forced to drink another protein shake in my life. Blech.

    December 2019 Sleeves

I won’t lie. Those first few weeks were hard. Like really hard. But I followed all the rules. And it seems like ages ago. Those early days will creep along but play by the rules as much as you possibly can and you will be amazed at the progress. Good luck!

    Confusedddd

Are you eating protein first? I know if I ever go away from that golden rule I can overeat and eat things that I don’t “need”. I’m in my 6th month and I could eat more than I should pretty easily. Lean protein first. Then add veggies. Then a whole grain carb if you’re still hungry. And don’t forget to drink a lot before you eat. Get the water in. Log your food if you stopped. It will tell you how many calories you’re really having.

    Head hunger post op!!

I was miserable post op. And I don’t think it was head hunger but the cravings were. I wanted to chew food so bad. Life got a lot happier once I got my scrambled egg. Lol I don’t like the term head hunger. Once you stop eating, the body thinks it’s starving. It’s not “head hunger” it’s your body’s response to thinking it is being starved. However, WHAT you want to eat is the issue. You can satisfy hunger with water or broth or maybe jello. Saying you’re imagining hunger seems ridiculous to me. Are we at risk of starvation? Of course not. But the body isn’t designed to want to lose weight so that’s not all mental. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Broth and runny grits with a little cheese helped me survive early when the hunger was real and not in my head. I can eat anything now but certain foods smell awesome but I won’t eat them. Either because I shouldn’t or I know if I do I will feel awful. On the flip side, some foods smell so bad I can’t stand to be near them. So there’s that. You will get through it and it will get better. A lot of us felt the same.

Congrats to you all. I was sleeved in June and it’s changed my life. I’m so so thankful to have my sleeve. Excited for you all to get your new tool☺️

    yellow eyes

You should always be worried about yellow eyes. Liver issues can cause this. ER all day.

    What are you eating?

Well I am at 5 months now and since I was 3 months I’ve honestly eaten basically every type of meat. I limit the red meat and don’t tolerate greasy food well so I limit it a lot, but I have tried about everything without issue. I prefer shrimp and other seafoods or chicken because they are less likely to make me feel bad. I haven’t eaten ground turkey yet and don’t really plan to start. It is super unappealing to me. I like regular turkey but ground turkey and chicken are not something I am interested in trying. I also love beans for variety. I think adapting to focusing all my meals on protein has been a big change for me personally. Has taken some adapting but the results have been awesome so I’m all in. I also gave up yogurt after week 4 bc I was able to hit protein goal without it.

    Gastric bypass or sleeve

I am glad I got sleeved bc It’s working just fine for me. I think a lot of issues get highlighted and magnified here. If everyone had issues with sleeve surgery they wouldn’t do it. My bloodwork was a 180 within a month of getting it done. I know some people have problems but I also think taking your doctors best advice is the way to go. Asking an online forum is not how I would treat cancer or an infection so I’m sticking with medical advice from the doc.
