I think I turned a bit of a corner today. All of a sudden I can drink more Water. I was getting close to my water target before, but it was work. Today it's going down easily.

I had a large drop in weight initially, but the rest of the past week it's been just sort of trickling away. Down 10lbs from the morning of surgery, 8 days ago.

Only concern is I think that my remaining blood pressure med might be too strong. I'm dealing with a bit of dizziness and a headache. My blood sugars are fine so... I see my regular doc next week, so I'm hoping it will be adjusted.

Post op Day # 5. I feel great. Hitting my Protein requirements (the Protein Shots are great to get it in). Hitting Water goals, no problem. Mild pain. I have learned I can not just take my pm meds and lay down, nope, I must sit up straight until they digest. I have only have been drinking water and protein shots or shakes. I did cook a tiny amount of chicken of mushroom Soup and got it in. One can could be 4 servings easily.

Well it is to be expected; you are about to embark on a journey that will last the rest of your life. Yes you have done a lot of the preliminaries, but as my Late Daddy would say "Its time for the s*** to hit the fan!" Gosh I miss some of his witticisms! You know it is odd the things you remember. I remember being a mini-Frustr8, attending parades, my little town had lots of them, and Daddy hoisting me up,on his shoulders so I could see better. And how safe I felt! I normally have acrophobia, fear of heights, but never with Daddy, he kept me safe. And I'll close with a thought from my motivational app, says it pretty fine.
" Don't think what can happen in a month. Don't think about what can happen in a year. Focus on the 24 hours in front of you & do what you can to get closer to where you want to be."
Love 💘, hugs and prayers🙏 from Frustr8 for all your Tomorrows.

You'll do fine! I had my procedure the 20th and forget that I had major surgery! The first 24 hours are the worst. Just keep walking and do not be afraid to ask for pain or nausea medication if you need it.

Good to hear you guys are doing great! Mine was on the 27th and I still have a catheter in...but I want it out soooo badly. ..and maybe a bit TMI but my bowels started again after 5 days. It was the blackest poo i've ever seen. Still having a bit of gas pain in the right shoulder when i go to bed at night, but when i walk around for a bit, it helps. Damn that phrenic nerve!

So all in all, Im still feeling like a wuss.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
