June 2019!!! Surgery Siblings!!!

  • Popular Post

So I didnt see a June thread and wanted to make one so we could all stay accountable and have a lot of good and bad experiences together!!! Introducing myself: My name is Kassandra, I am 27 years young, I have 3 great kids (9 yr old & 5yr old little boys & a 2 year old little girl), a wonderful hubby, and 3 great cats. I'm a type 2 diabetic & have sleep apnea. I decided to do this to take my life back because I do NOT want my kids to lose me so young. I'm 5 ft 2 and 258 lbs. I was 293 last summer then I started to make small changes to get ready for surgery. I had planned for the sleeve but my insurance won't cover it right now so RNY it is!!!

Sorry I just seen your on day 2....I hope you start feeling better. I'm not able to take any pain meds so i hope i survive.
It was fine all day. Just have some distractions enough you.

Nice to meet you! My surgery is this coming wednesday, 4 days away. I'm somewhat anxious and definitely excited. My close friend is having weight loss surgery the same day, same hospital, and same doctor as me, so we've been able to keep each other sane.

Well Wednesday is the day for me. nervous excited trying to get everything in place before hand. Big change

Did anyone not lose that much weight during their preop diet?

I’m on day 5 of 10 of a 5 shakes/day diet and I’ve only lost 4.6 lb! I have my pre op testing tomorrow and am worried what they’ll say, esp. b/c people here seem to lose 10-15 lb (or more!) in the typical 2 weeks ?

Part of me is a bit disappointed too, b/c a bigger loss pre op seems like a good kickstart to the whole process?
Awesome and congrats! How are you feeling?
A bit better. I slept much better for sure. Most of my belly is fine. The larger incision on my right is the trouble maker. I'll be happier when it calms down. Thank you for asking.

Sorry tough are frustrated. Have you added exercise? My pre-op required 30 minutes of walking a day. Maybe that would help?
Yes! Thanks for starting this! I am married mother of 2 grown daughters, 2 grandsons, 1 granddaughter and 1 grand baby on the way. I lost my Mom and Grandma last year. I decided to have surgery to try to be the best version of me I can be and enjoy healthy life for as long as I can with my family. I had sleeve done on June 4. I am 5’4” and was 214 going into surgery. I’m really looking forward to meeting some people enduring this challenging journey all at the same time.
I just started my pre op diet today: surgery is Monday the 24th

You get 5 shakes a day? I only get 3 :( but I've been doing 3 shakes, a cup of bone broth, and sf popsicles or jello if things get tough. I havent weighed myself so I'm not sure how much I've lost.
