    June 2019 Surgery Siblings!

So I didnt see a June thread and wanted to make one so we could all stay accountable and have a lot of good and bad experiences together!!! Introducing myself: My name is Kassandra, I am 27 years young, I have 3 great kids, a wonderful hubby, and 3 great cats. I'm a type 2 diabetic & have sleep apnea. I decided to do this to take my life back. I'm 5 ft 2 and 258 lbs. I had planned for the sleeve but my insurance won't cover it right now so RNY it is! *also posted on bypass board*

    June 2019 Surgery Siblings!

Hello my lovely bariatric family! I'm now in Onederland and I'm happy! I'm down to 198 which puts me down 38 lbs since surgery (which im kind of disappointed with tbh) but I'm down 95 lbs total. I'm falling off the wagon a little this last week by drinking flat diet dr pepper and eating a few things that aren't the best for me. In going to try to get myself in check. How is everyone?!

    June 2019 Surgery Siblings!

How is my wonderful family doing?! Big shout out to our sister ARMomma. She had her surgery last Monday. How is everyone feeling? I won't lie, cravings are horrible sometimes but I've stayed strong. I feel so hungry but can barely eat anything. I've been living off of protein shakes still. Ugh.

    June 2019!!! Surgery Siblings!!!

So I didnt see a June thread and wanted to make one so we could all stay accountable and have a lot of good and bad experiences together!!! Introducing myself: My name is Kassandra, I am 27 years young, I have 3 great kids (9 yr old & 5yr old little boys & a 2 year old little girl), a wonderful hubby, and 3 great cats. I'm a type 2 diabetic & have sleep apnea. I decided to do this to take my life back because I do NOT want my kids to lose me so young. I'm 5 ft 2 and 258 lbs. I was 293 last summer then I started to make small changes to get ready for surgery. I had planned for the sleeve but my insurance won't cover it right now so RNY it is!!!

    June 2019 Surgery Siblings!

Hey everyone!!! How is everyone doing? I will be 4 weeks post OP tomorrow and so far I'm down a whopping 13 lbs since surgery. I'm still pretty tired and I've been moody but apparently that's normal since us ladies store estrogen in our fat and it starts getting released after surgery. I've been trying some new foods here and there too. Still hurts like a b!t*h when I sneeze though. My goodness it feels like I'm being ripped apart but other than that, I feel wonderful. I don't regret doing this one bit. I've noticed that I've dropped quite a few inches even if the pounds don't reflect it. Very happy with this second chance at life. Anyone else getting dizzy when you stand up though?

    My Hospital Bag..??

So surgery is in 30 hours and I just got most of my bag packed and ready to go. I have these things: *CPap *chapstick *deodorant *travel sized toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, my biotene, and soap) *eye mask, small Dove lotion tin *A change of panties *hairbrush and pony tail holders I plan on leaving in the clothes I come in with. All in all, i have a small Supernatural backpack that I've fit everything in surprisingly lol except the CPAP lol some of the stuff I'm taking is the same stuff I leave in there anyway lol. I use it as a purse so it can serve 2 purposes. Anything I need, I need to fit in it. Way less **** to keep up with. Oh and my travel pillow will be waiting for me in the car anyone else got anything to add to this?

Girl I feel you on that. I keep trying to side sleep because I CANNOT sleep on my back. I miss side sleeping comfortably.

Haha it's so weird though. Like with liquids I haven't gotten any "I'm-full-stop-eating-now-or-suffer-my-wrath" cues yet. Maybe because its liquids mainly. What kind of puree recipes are you doing? I need some idea. I've done refried beans with taco seasoning and this fat free/carb free white cheese dip. I decided to give myself a few more days to heal before I move on to purees/soft foods.

    Vitamins

I use Opurity by Unjury for both my multivitamin and my calcium. A 3 month supply is $27 for the multivitamin and you only take one a day. I HATE chewable kinds but that's what my surgeon wants us to do for a while.

    Dry Mouth at Night

So I had this problem and my dr said it's because of some of the meds I was on. I keep biotene on hand too because of it.

I do know you care and yes I'm pretty sure that's all it is. I've been pushing my limits because the hubby is working so it's up to super mom to get things done. Haiden (my 9 yr old) has been amazingly helpful though.

Me too. I've been able to drink all my stuff so easily that it kind of scares me. I mean it really makes me wonder if they just opened me up and then closed me up Haha. Now I know what our other siblings meant.

    June 2019 Surgery Siblings!

Last Wednesday was surgery and I just started feeling like this. Things like this typically dont happen. A few cases where people have minor complications but no biggie.

    June 2019 Surgery Siblings!

So my surgeon told me if things got worse to go to the nearest ER. Well I did and the ER dr said "are you sure you're supposed to be here? We dont have anyone who does gastric bypass" I'm super sick, weak, and having severe pains in my stomach. I hate some drs who dont want to help. Needless to say, I'm waiting on a CT and labs from a dr who thinks I dont know what I'm talking about. Hah

She said that it sounds normal so I feel better. She called me in a muscle relaxer and that seemed to help so much more than the pain pills did.

    June 2019 Surgery Siblings!

So I managed to go today and it was black so maybe that's a good sign. I told them and my dr said he thinks things are fine but if things get worse to go to my nearest ER. I am so glad you adopted me lol. Your posts always make me smile.

Not a whole lot of nausea. I havent noticed a temp either. As for my heart rate it's a little faster than normal but not much. I called the emergency dr exchange last night and my surgeon happened to be the one on call and said this sometimes happens but to email or call the office today to update them.

Yay!!!!! I didn't have a catheter. They said since it's such a short surgery that I wouldnt need one but I have seen a few of our group that did need them. I asked my nurses as soon as they took me back to prep me.
