Why would you want to cut it short and not do the full time in preparation?

My surgery is the 13th of this month. They called me last week and schedule everything. So, I use 4 of the days to get my last junk food eating out the way.

Even though its not a full 2 weeks, can that change anything?

Yes. The purpose isn’t to get you on a fast track to lose weight. It’s to shrink the size of your liver for easier access to your stomach for your surgeon. Stick to the plan they’ve given you. You CAN do this!! Just throw all that junk food in the trash

My doc has us on a 9 day Liver shrink and full liquid the day before. I can understand why you spent a 4-day splurge. I am looking at the cottage cheese in my fridge, wishing that I was able to get that in.

Hey - I know I caught a bunch of flak on here for having a "food funeral", but I have NO REGRETS. I was supposed to be on a 16 day diet with one meal a day and 3 shakes, and I definitely crushed fast food and Pasta, etc, on a few of those days as a final farewell. And I am glad I did. My liver was normal size, though, so I didn't need any "liver shrinking" to happen and no one was any the wiser I had *cheated*. I knew I was about to make a dedication to never have those items again in my entire life (something I will absolutely stick to), so I wasn't about to let my last chance to pass me by.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
