April surgeries?

Recommended Posts

Hello, my surgery date is on April 22nd and i have been waiting for this day since last summer. I live in NJ but my surgery is at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. I am currently on a two week liquid and raw veggie diet. The days are speeding by fast. I have no idea what I am getting myself into. I have done my research and have read the forums and prayed from time to time but reading is different from actually having the surgery and experiencing post op and beyond. This is going to be a new journey for real. I pray that I stick with what I need to do to succeed. I am very thankful to the"Bariatric Pal" app. Is there any other person having the surgery on the same day and/ or at the same hospital?

Hi I'm also april 22nd but in PA. I'm on my 2 week pre op diet too! I'm nervous but just really excited for this change. How are you doing on your preop diet?

This pre op diet is tough. I am on day 5 with 9 more days to go... While family is enjoying meals and Desserts, I'm eating cucumbers!

I'm struggling with the diet but following the dr's order. I have lost 7lbs so far, which is rare for me. I can't believe I'm having this surgery.

Hello All! Surgery Date April 26th! I’m sooo excited and nervous lol. So, I can totally relate. (First day of pre-op diet [emoji51][emoji31])
I am excited and nervous also. I need this surgery though. I understand that it's a tool. I must stay focused.

I need it too. Although I am slightly nervous, I have worked really hard to get here. So, with that being said, I didn’t come this far just to remain this far. Totally focused and committed! No turning back, just better days ahead. We can do this!

Unfortunately I did not lose much weight prior. One day, I would lose 2 lbs and then gain 1 lb.

Since Jan I lost 19lbs but it was a real struggle! My goal during preop diet was originally to lose 10lbs but I'm hoping to lose more now! You're doing great being down 7lbs in 5 days [emoji4]

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
