I was told Decaf only for the first 2 weeks. I then went to regular coffee after the nutritionist told me that was fine unless I was having trouble getting my Water in. Absolutely no problems. Good luck!!

Ulcers were an early concern but it was found later that you are more likely to have ulcer problems with orange juice. The main thing is to watch the pee chart and make sure you are staying hydrated. One cup a day wont cause any problems.

So I remember my surgeon told me that after a few weeks I can have 1 cup of coffee but I keep reading that I shouldn't cause it causes dehydration and ulcers.. than I read people do it since day 1. So I am confused.

Each surgeons instruction may look different and may change over the years.

I was instructed not to have coffee in 2014. Now my surgeon's office allows it. Stop drinking it if it causes acid or upset stomach. Don't count your coffee as hydration for the day. Make sure you can drink your hydration requirement. Do you know what your hydration goal is? I think mine was 64 oz a day.

I think they want you to restrict it to Decaf if you do it (dehydration from caffeine) and also the acid in coffee might not agree with your stomach right away. I'm 5 weeks post-op and am drinking decaf coffee now and not having any problems.

I have coffee daily. In fact, I only stayed with Decaf the first week. I drink 16 oz of coffee every morning. I mix in unflavored Protein collagen and a tablespoon of Creamer. I drink it 30 minutes after my Premier Protein drink in the morning. My doctor has no issues with it and my body is happier.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
