Shirataki Noodles

Been cruising the interwebs looking for future recipes. Came across these noodles that are essentially carb free. Anyone tried them? They look like an answer to prayer to me!!!

  • Ok guys!! I was about to post my own thread on these noodles I got in the BP store: Zeroodles with Oat Fiber (Spaghetti and Angel Hair shapes). I've loved and used shirataki noodles for years as

I've had them. Make sure you rinse them really really well before you cook with them. They have an "off" smell, like paint. The texture kinda reminds me of pad thai noodles. If you can get past the

  • Sure why not. If you don't have a prob with carbs like I do. I love the Zeroodles that @Alex Brecher carries in the Bariatric Pal Store. So damn good! Seriously. This one is the bomb.com! Love

Not at the moment but there are many other brands that should be for sale locally.

I feel like I'm something of a shirataki savant. :D  I've tried dang near every major brand both online and in the grocery. Nasoya is the most popular brand in regular markets. Most often it's the one mix with tofu. And that has the best texture, but since I don't eat soy, it's a no go for me.

Of all, the Zeroodles have the least smell, and greatest texture! I do rinse like cray, dry fry in a pan, and then season them well with either sauce or my spices/or dish. I don't just add a pat of butter and eat them. I've no idea what they would taste like. I love that they are mixed with oat fiber to up the probiotic/prebiotic nutrition. So they are awesome for gut health and since it's soluble fiber (konjac + oat fiber = soluble fibers) they are really good for cholesterol too!

I haven't tried your new Nutrinoodle-odorless shirataki yet, but plan on getting them soon!!! I'm super pumped to try them and am hoping the fettucini texture is great! https://store.bariatricpal.com/collections/all/products/nutrinoodle-odorless-shirataki-fettuccine

I'll be back later to update my review on them here!! :) @Myhorseisfattoo You should def buy from Alex and BP. Their customer service is amazing and I got my stuff the day after I ordered! (I think it was either 2 or 3 days. Can't exactly remember, but it was way faster than Netrition or Vitacost orders. I was floored it got here so quickly!)

Yeah I also was amazed how quick Bariatric Pal Store deliveries are, even to my off beaten path and no interstate access city. Good stuff, reasonable price and quick delivery, triple wins in My Book!

Any one tried these? A friend recommended them and says they have no smell at all and take on whatever taste you pair them with. I want to give them a try! Hardly, any calories or carbs!

I eat shirataki noodles sometimes and my fiancée has a monthly subscription. He eats them with everything, but I only find them nice if they’re rinsed and sautéed in an Asian recipe. I find them too much like rice noodles to use as spaghetti, so I stick to Chinese or Vietnamese recipes.
