Dairy problems?

I’m almost two weeks post op and I just cannot tolerate the protein shakes. The past few days my stomach has not been happy. This morning I tried a clear protein drink from Premier Protein. It has whey protein in it but no other dairy. I drank it no problem and had no gas and was not running to the bathroom. Then in the afternoon I tried a plant based protein powder with milk and within a few minutes of starting it my stomach was gurgling!

Any suggestions on what I can add to a powdered protein shake that’s not milk?

I have almond milk at home. I’ll have to give that a try.

I use almond milk for my shakes and macadamia nut milk for coffee. I think the shakes are actually more creamy

I’ve never tried macadamia nut milk. I’ll put it in my list!

I use unsweetened vanilla Almond Milk because I cannot tolerate regular milk.

The protein mix I have is plant based but I use water to mix it.. I tried milk before surgery didnt like it.. so maybe just use water instead of milk? I use currently Orgain creamy chocolate protein powder its surprisingly pretty tasty.. bought it at Costco
