  1. I just had my arm lift last Wednesday. The pain has not been to bad at all. I’ve just been taking Tylenol. I was able to shower two days after and I was kind of surprised when I took the bandages off, how much skin was left. I’m really, really hoping once the swelling goes down they will look better. Did this happen to anyone else after their arm lift? I have my follow up on Wednesday with my dr. I’m going to ask him. I was realistic going in that I wasn’t going to have the arms of an athlete. I just wanted to be comfortable wearing sleeveless tops. I hope this wasn’t a waste of money! Fingers crossed it gets better.

    Stop vitamins before surgery?

Hi! I’m going in on Wednesday for an arm lift and my surgeon said it was ok to take my vitamins but just didn’t want me taking any vitamin E. My multi vitamin has some vitamin E in it but it’s low enough that it’s ok to still take. Good luck!

    October 2018 Sleevers

Hi everyone. I posted a few things yesterday but felt I needed to today since is one year for me today! I’m totally I've lost 85 pounds, 72 since the surgery. I’ve also lost 47 inches! I’m so happy with the loss but had wished for more. I just have to stay on track and not lose sight of my goals! This past year has been an emotional roller coaster for me not because of the surgery but because my dad was very sick. I found myself traveling back and forth to Florida a lot to be with him and he passed away in August. The last thing he said to me was how great he thought I looked! I try to remember that as I move forward into year two. Besides this sadness, so many great things happened for me this year. I fit comfortably into an airplane seat with lots of room left in the seatbelt! I went from a size 18/20 to a size 12/14 and size large tops! My feet don’t hurt anymore when I walk long distances and I’m no longer on blood pressure meds! Yay! I have so much more confidence in myself and I finally feel healthy! The next year will be challenging to reach my goal but I’ve come this far and I’m not going to stop now! I wish you all good health and continued success on your journey! You’re all doing fabulous!

Thank you for the encouragement lolaj! It’s nice to know I’m not alone in feeling this way. I am so grateful for having the opportunity to have this surgery and I am thrilled with my result but you do get stuck on the number! I told my husband that, when you’ve spent your life starring at that stupid number in the scale, it stays with you! I also need to stop snacking and I know more cardio will help me! Onwards and upwards!

Hi Yvonne! Tomorrow is my 1 year anniversary. I’m so happy with my results but I’m stuck at 200! I started at 285 so, again thrilled but so frustrated with not seeing lower than that. I’ve been at this weight for about two months now. I think we’re all doing great!

    Stress and poor food choices

Wow, you and your family have certainly been through a lot! I’m glad you’re back on here. Even though you’re away from home, you can always find the support you need here! Good job for trying to get back on track. You’ve gotta start, or restart, somewhere!

  20. Hi all. My surgery is scheduled for October 16! It’s coming so fast. I’m excited and nervous! I’ve waited so long for this. I’ve spent so much time taking care of everyone else and now it’s my time! Who else is out there that’s having surgery in October? I’d love to connect with you.

    TRICARE WEST HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi there. I have Tricare Standard so I didn't need a referral to the surgeon. There are requirements in order to qualify for the surgery and every doctor is different what they require, however, Tricare does require, I think 4-6 nutrition visits. I saw the nutritionist on base in CT which was nice to not have to pay for those visits. By the time my surgery came, I had met the deductible and caps so didn't pay anything for the surgery! I feel so fortunate to have Tricare! Best of luck to you!

Going out to eat for the first time pos-op.

It is exciting to eat out the first time but also scary. I always check the menus out online before I go so I know there is something I can eat. I take all meals home and my husband likes it because he gets to take my leftovers for lunch. Just eat slow and chew well and mostly just enjoy!

Sounds like everyone is doing well for the most part! We are all on our own journeys and its hard not to compare. I will be 6 months post op on April 16. Hard to believe! I haven't had blood work done yet but will for my next apt so I don't know what those numbers will say, however, what I can say is I have lost almost 70 pounds, 53 since surgery, and I have lost a lot of inches. My hair started to fall out about a month ago and I added the biotin, which I think is starting to help. I've been at the same weight for the past two months. It's frustrating but I did weigh myself this morning and lost about 3 pounds so I am happy to have left the 220's behind! My old, small clothes, fit me again, which I am thrilled about! My husband and I recently went to Mexico to an all-inclusive resort and I was proud of how I was able to not overindulge like I would have in the past. I did indulge a little but I came home the same weight that I left! I saw a picture of myself and couldn't believe it was me! I've had really bad back/hip pain for the past few months which has really stopped me from exercising the way I need to. I am still exercising, just not enough to make the weight come off. I think my body is just getting used to this new way of living. I am going for acupuncture tomorrow, and I am really hoping it will help with the pain! Everyone keep up the good work! Slow and steady wins the race!
