I was wondering how long do you need to worry about leaks

I had surgery the end of May. I have been ill, throwing up, chills, and fever. Do I need to worry about a leak? I have done really well, 250 to 193 pounds May to Now. First time getting sick.

It’s also the beginning of flu season AND in some parts of the country (like here) The Back To School Plague season! Hope you feel better soon.

You are well past the phase of a leak in the new cut edge of your stomach.

That said, any of us can get ulcers, diverticulitis, other ‘leaks” just like non bariatric folk, but we can also get any of the other many many types of (more common) infections too.

Sounds serious - I’d see a doctor. You can’t go too long without food and, in particular, fluid so you need to stay on top of that...

Best of luck.

Agree with @Biddy zz go see the doc ASAP and document what’s going on.

You should probably check for ulcers too. I've had one and it causes those symptoms among others.

that's what I was going to say, too - it could just be norovirus. But I'd probably call just in case - esp if it doesn't clear up on its own in a day or two.
