December 2018 Sleevers!

  • Popular Post

Hello everyone!

I was approved a few days ago (after only waiting a week) and received my surgery date for December 12, 2018! I chose this date out of the few offered to me because I am currently in college and I will be able to finish up my classes prior to the surgery (which was a huge worry of mine.) It's about two weeks before my birthday too!

Anyone else scheduled out in December?

  • I had my surgery exactly a year before you 12/12/17. Hopefully it's a lucky date. Almost a year out looking back it was an amazing life changing decision. I was just over 300 lbs to start and by June

  • So man. What a day! Surgery went text book according to surgeon. I was on the table for 55min. He told me it was obvious that I had rocked the preop diet, as he could have likely done the surgery with

Thanks!!! Same to you!!!!!!!

Too funny Steve, we are complete twins . My mont anniversary is Sunday . I was 232 on surgery day and logged in at 209 today . Stall at 222 and 214, but spinning plus 10k steps seems to help . Hoping to break 200 by feb 1

Omg , typical guy , it just fell off from ur waist ! I have lost from everywhere but a good 5 inches from my waist and abdomen and 3 from hips . Only one from my thighs but that is always the last to go .,

WOW Steve! Huge difference already!

Shanza, it looks like you're losing at around the same pace. I guess we started around the same surgery weight and you're a week a head of me and already in onederland. :-) I hope a I can say the same thing a week from now!!! 9 pounds in one week might be a stretch though, but ya never know.

Well, there's pluses and minuses. Although I am sure I had a little excess fat all over (definitely my face), most of it was in my abdomen (a lot of if the bad visceral fat). That's the sign of insulin resistance and T2DM. So, while it's all coming off in one place (and I may be looking a lot thinner faster), having T2DM, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, triglycerides and generally being a high risk for stroke and cardiac disease is not cool at all!! Hence, the reason I got this surgery. Women may carry the weight in their arms, legs, thighs, butt and some subcutaneous fat in their stomach--they usually don't get that bad visceral fat that is so dangerous. So, it may take women longer to see the results of their weigh loss (since it's coming from all over their bodies), it's still a better way to carry your weight than they way I am/was. I still have 40 pounds to go to reach my goal (although 30 would still put my at the weight I was when I was a trainer in college 22 years ago).

I figure break 200 by feb 1

That's my short-term goal too. However, I have been dropping pretty quickly the last ten days, so I am kind of expecting to hit a stall sometime soon.

CONGRATULATIONS to both of you. ?

I am 6 weeks post-op and I was feeling great until suddenly this week my shoulders and upper back are killing me. Anyone experiencing or experienced something like this? They feel so heavy.

I get days like that also. I think it may have to do with low protein and water intake. You know some days I do great eating and some days I can't eat a thing. Be good to yourself today and give your body what it needs, maybe just some rest.
