Intermittent Fasting Daily Menu/Results/Accountability

  • Popular Post

Hey y'all! Anyone and everyone is welcome to jump in and join us.

This is the Intermittent Fasting DAily Menu/Results/Accountability Thread. It's where a few of us (or many) are going to log in and encourage each other while we experiment with our own IF plans. You can list or talk about anything--not just your food. I look forward to adding in HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) and core exercises to my walking plan while practicing IF. So expect to hear about that too. ;) hehe I expect some of us will talk about the known IF side-effects like insomnia, circadian rhythm disturbance, etc. It's all good! Let's hack this IF mofo! mkay? :D

There is not any 1 specific IF plan--there are so many to choose from, so this is a BYOIFP (bring-your-own-IF-plan) and join the fun! This is the thread where we'll post our daily menus and maybe some piccys at times! We can discuss progress, issues we might notice, look at how we may want to refine our own personal plans. I do think you should be healed from surgery and have your doctor's and RD's blessings to try something like this and you should do a ton of research and reading about Intermittent Fasting.

IF isn't only about weight loss, it's about taking specific measures to limit either quantities, calories, macros, or sometimes only consciously altering eating windows/schedules in order to effect metabolic change and reduce inflammation and improve health markers.

Ok, let's do this thang!!!

Hi Fluffy... your body is so sensitive! It is so frustrating... I’m the same with sodium... I will start posting my food stats as I think seeing yours is really helpful ... and will help me understand what I can change to get back into weight loss... the only thing I have been reluctant to give up is my evening mug of 38cal hot chocolate... just 38 measly calories and I shall be gutted if that is preventing my weight loss!! I have nothing else that looks like the culprit... I feel like I’m in a frigging nunnery on bread and water only it’s meat and water...

Ugh, it sucks to be sensitive to sodium. My PCP said he thought that is part of my issues. Sorry to hear that you are also sensitive to it! Gah! For me, posting is a must (at least in MFP), but I always thought a daily menu thread could be so helpful to most of us--like they do on another forum.

I can't imagine that your 38cal hot choco is the culprit. But maybe you could try ditchin' it for a week to see? Maybe replace it with a nightly cup of camomille tea? ((hugs)) So glad to see you here again. I've been worried about you!!

I’m insanely busy at work.. I butcher employees for a living (not really but I have to keep them in line or fire them and I’m not great at it) so I work long hours and get stupidly stressed and have to manage a barking mad chairman diagnosed as a psychopath- so maybe stress levels come into this... my afib is trying to settle down and my prolapse disc and surrounding area is just very creaky as it heals... where’s the best place to post MFP daily meal stats as I would dearly love to get input but I don’t want to hog the forum ?

Wow. Stress city. I can't even imagine the stress involved with having a psychopath for a boss. Or the stress of hiring/firing the minions! :( No wonder you have A-fib. I hope you're able to destress at night so you can heal. Sounds like you need a meditation/prayer component in your day?

I would say maybe make a Daily Menu thread either in the Lounge or in the Post Op Nutrition Area? Probably more would participate in the Lounge though?

Ok will start one in the lounge ... now I just have to figure out how to post my daily food stat diary from MFP... I guess I can’t do it from my phone?
Also have downloaded a couple of meditation apps which help on particularly bad nights when I struggle to sleep ... you are very perceptive Ms FC ?

I don't know how you do it from your phone? I do a screen capture on my computer screen, but it's a desktop. I know Tea knows how to do it though!!!

Thanks GT ... I will go explore... good news ... my heart is racing at the moment in afib (160bpm) and that’s when I have to pee a lot so maybe I’ll drop a micro-pound by the morning!! ?
I’ll do a screen capture in the morning... thanks Fluffy ... it’s 9pm in London and I’m relaxing trying to de-stress ?

I also screenshot because I can't find a way from the mobile version

You guys are brilliant! Thank you GT and FC! I will have background rain meditation sounds on my phone and will squirt some lavender on my pillow ... if all else fails there’s my trusty wooden mallet I keep by the side of my bed ?

Controlling Hunger Part I - A new blog post from IDM and Megan Ramos (Dr. Fung's partner and research scientist).

They have a lot of bariatric patients at IDM, but are not pro-WLS. So if you can look past their bias, this is a very informative and helpful article. :) Just like we suspected, "the less we eat, the less hunger we experience" and conversely, "the more we eat, the hungrier we get."
