Gastric Bypass-No Weight Lost

I had Gastric Bypass on August 8th and since the day I came home (August 10th) I have not lost 1 lbs. I get my water and protein in. I have walked every day aside from 1. I have tried to read everything to figure out why, but I can't even find anyone else this has happened to. Did it really not work? Is that even possible? I have been doing everything I can on my end so why is this happening? I seriously don't think I can face anyone if after all this I still can't succeed.

  • Please don't stress about this. I stalled out after I got home from the hospital as well. In fact, I didn't lose much at all my first month and now I'm 7 months post op, down 132lbs. Your body essenti

A, but that's the thing FloweryNYC. I am eating less because I know I need to, not because I am not hungry. I only eat 3 oz because the Dr says so not because I couldn't eat more. I don't feel restriction at all. In fact if I didn't get a slight pain when I drink sometimes I wouldn't even know I ha d surgery.

Soft or Pureed foods would just slide through a gastric bypass pouch, right? You won't feel real restriction till you move to solid foods, especially proteins.

I'm going on 4 weeks out and my scale hasn't really moved much beyond a few pounds in the past week/week and a half. I'm not at all concerned, I've dieted many times in the past and know what a weight loss stall is. Our bodies are still sorting themselves out after the massive trauma we put them through. If this is really bothering you, my recommendation would be to stay off the scale for a month and just keep following your post-op diet plan.
