Hey everyone I made it through surgery. The 1st two days were rough, but I’m feeling much better now. I was supposed to go home yesterday but because I haven’t been drinking enough fluids I was made to stay another day. I’m working harder today to get enough liquids in.

Congrats to you. Take it slow, slow small sips and you will get the fluids down. Like @NewBodySoon says get your walking in and make sure to rest. You got this!

CONGRATULATIONS on making it through surgery . Now the real journey begins. Stay focused. Do your walking every two hours but also remember to get rest so that you heal properly.

And it will trust me. I am 8 days out. By my 3rd day home I was trying to speed the process lol but you have to keep reminding yourself to take baby steps. You want proper healing not rush the healing to only have complications down the road. We must remember this is no short cut this is lifestyle change[emoji6]

Anyone post op having a hard time finding satisfying soft food to eat. I think my taste buds are dead. Nothing tastes like anything to me and I’m a daughter of a great professional chef. I have head people say your taste buds change after surgery but I didn’t expect to not want to eat anything.

And I hope things are going well for both of you. Who is going to get released first, you or hubby? Think if you both take things slow and easy, may be a b rough week or week and a half, but by a week or 2 into September you both will be feeling better. Anyway, just thinking of you both today.😛&😛

Thanks! We were both released about the same time. He didn't know about the gas pains so as he was walking to the car a bubble got him good so he went right back to the ER. He didn't bother telling me so I was a little freaked out for a bit. Thankfully a friend brought me home.

My sister and another friend have been helping take care of our fur kids.

He's already back at work.

@clsumrall my surgery was the 23rd and I didn't have a bm until yesterday. I was freaking out. My poor nurse heard from me daily. She had me drinking Mirilax and using glycerin suppositories and even an enema. I was terrified of what the first one would be like. Thankfully it was easy and I've been going easily since. Hope yours is just as easy.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
