dinner out with my colourist & her husband. Pre dinner gin & basil cocktail at local boutique hotel followed by dinner at nearby restaurant. Started with Brie baked in wood fire coals with fennel jam & fermented garlic honey. It was delicious. Wanted to scoop it up in spoonfuls but I used two small pieces of lavosh which sat ok. Then duck breast with puréed parsnip & baby carrots. Also sipped a glass of a lovely Grenache which I sadly couldn’t finish. I ate almost one piece of duck & 1/3 of the purée & carrots & have the leftovers for dinner tonight. Yippee!

Lots of young beautiful girls at the hotel. All dressed the same, with their matching laminated brows, lip & check fillers, lash implants & blonde hair. All mirror images of each other. Not an individual amongst them. Sad really.

Nice, Lettuce is a bit of a luxury item in Australia atm up to 15.00 dollars each !!!

Geez, that’s expensive! You can grow it from seed indoors on a window sill in a planter. Loads cheaper and takes about 30 days.

Oh no! Well if it’s any consolation I’m trying to regrow my lettuce from the stalk. If it works (and is fairly easy) I’ll let you know if that may be an option.

You can do celery and scallions the same way!

Enjoying a week off work so let the home meals commence!

Today’s included feeding Beans (a true feat!) to usually reluctant humans. Mine- crispy street style corn tortillas, homemade refried beans, homemade pico, shredded cheese and sour cream I didn’t even need. Theirs were on fajita size flour tortillas as they still balk at corn ones.

I was too lazy to calorie calculate homemade refried beans so used what seemed close. Also, all dinner items were $13.44US but there’s tons of leftovers for lunches this week and I’ll end up freezing half the beans for later.

Breakfast this morning- a take on akki roti (an Indian flatbread made with rice flour) made with zucchini, onion, and scallion with a dip made of whole milk yogurt, turmeric and garam masala. The $.45US is the cost for a whole serving and 2Tbsp of the yogurt dip so I ate closer to $.23US.

Y’all, I’m thinking about starting a food blog about budget meals. I went shopping for my personal weekly groceries (no kids included this time as we mostly eat separate meals) and spent $35.38US.

So far I’ve made these-

lunch was a salad with scrambled tofu, roasted peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, and romaine with a homemade dressing.

dinner was roasted chicken thigh, roasted sweet potato, spinach and a smidge of garlic confit.

Who else is watching food prices soar?

There’s no rhyme or reasoning either. This is a parfait with fresh peaches because the price on cherries doubled since I last bought them.
Also I remember why I stopped eating granola, too much sugar!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
