I dunno, its weird...i still love food, but its not so much about actually eating it anymore...i really just enjoy cooking it, plating it, planning to cook it, looking at pictures of it, smelling it, watching others eat it. And - don't judge me - I absolutely LOOOOOVE reading restaurant menus in their entirety. I probably spend more time perusing the menu than I do actually eating. Not sure if this is some weird mental issue, but i seem to be functioning well in society so its all good. LOLOLOLzzzzzzz.

I’m the same way. Out of the 20+ dozen Cookies I made this week I had maybe 6 over 4 days. I just enjoy being able to make others happy with a treat or just making their day suck a little less (hospital healthcare is a nightmare right now) so to me researching a new recipe to share or learning a new technique for baking makes me feel better and seeing others enjoy helps reduce the anxiety and stress of working.

And strangely some coworkers have asked me when I’m opening a bakery or if I’m taking cookie orders for the holidays….. 😂

Also, I woke up early Friday to make another 6 dozen cookies before work to Celebrate a couple of coworkers birthdays- triple chocolate chip, strawberry shortcake, chocolate caramel, and chocolate butterfinger.

Fall comfort food. Split pea and ham Soup. Pumped up the Protein by using Bone Broth instead of regular chicken broth. A bunch of chopped kale goes in at the end.

@kristieshannon I made tortilla Soup a couple weeks ago too. It was good. Wish Texas was having some fall weather. Nothing like a cup of hot soup on a cold day.
Yours look so good too!!

Was that hard to make? Looks good

Nope, super easy. Dice an onion, a couple carrots, and 4 oz ham. In a pot with 7 cups liquid (I used 2 cups chicken Bone Broth and 5 cups water). A 1 lb bag of split peas, a couple bay leaves, 2 tsp salt, 1 tsp pepper, 1 tsp garlic powder. Let it simmer a couple hours until the veggies & peas are soft. Chop a bunch of kale and stir it in for the last 5 minutes.

Spring time here on the opposite end of the earth. Friendly Butcher bird came to visit as I sat on my deck with my mid morning snack. Didn’t like the way he was eyeing off my multigrain crackers though & I wasn’t sharing. 😁😁

Your Soup looks yummo @kristieshannon but you all know I love soup regardless the weather.

Congrats on your surgery @Kaminsky Dyer. We’ve all been where you are now & undesrand the newness & strangeness of the post surgical eating play. Just take it day by day & you’ll be able to eat soup like Kristie’s (without the kale to begin - too coarse) before you know it.

Salmon with a Dijon chive sauce; zucchini and potato wedges from a hello fresh box. I had half a salmon portion and probably quarter or less portion of the zucchini and potatoes and didn’t finish that.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
