The fam had fettuccine for dinner tonight (which i don’t eat) so am enjoying a 1/4 cup of trail mix in front of the tv while they clean up.

A very late lunch (got distracted by baking): Take-out Montreal Smoked meat, sauerkraut, and fries (+some mustard)

The fries were not very good so only had one and put the rest on Mr.'s plate. The sauerkraut wasn't very good either, but I ate all of it anyway: 144 calories.

I really wanted some Cereal. So here is my “lower” carb take. Using pecans in place of grains. I am one of maybe 3 people on earth who loves soggy cold cereal so it was a little too crunchy for me but overall tasted awesome. I think I will swap the almond milk for a vanilla Premier Protein shake next time.

I’ve been making Soup again. chicken & lentils with carrots, onions, celery & fresh tomatoes & a touch of cumin, paprika, garlic & fresh parsley. I only use chicken thigh meat - has way more flavour. Have to admit the fresh parsley was a bit raspy on my throat. ☹️ Forgot to clean the edges of my bowl before I took the pxt.

Had skyr with bulgur salad and pita again yesterday evening. Seems to be a new favorite. Problem is the leftovers are not really something I'd want to eat. The soy skyr gets a really weird texture the next day once mixed with something that is the slightest acidic. There wasn't much left but I hate throwing out food.

Anyway, lunch for today: fruit bowl with some almond butter that has become too dense by sitting too long. A potato filled thingy from the Turkish bakery I stopped at yesterday when I visited a friend in the city I lived in until New Year. Curious about how it will taste. Soy yoghurt (just in case the potato thing tastes horrible, lol).

food photo dump ! Speaking of dumping, anything too rich and/or sweet will cause it for me (this means decadent meat and pastry are equally problematic, 😒) All photos are “afters”

Fatteh - roasted lamb and spiced eggplant with nuts in garlic yogurt (SO amazing)

Classic cheeseburger from a Guy Fiore burger joint (good but too rare for me)

Lemon tart - very very good but too sweet for me

Took @ms.sss’s char sui pork recipe and made it, but with pork tenderloin. I am sure it is better with fatty pork, but it is really yummy! Expect to see it again this week in salad and slaws😬 I cooked it while prepping for a chicken and bacon chowder (not shown). The Soup came out awesome, but it is very rich. Hubby is happy with soup for leftovers for the week. 😊

Thank you, ms.sss!

Back to normal control foods with logging 😒

turkey and cheese w/carrots (not pictured) before and after (I ate .75)

I’m still cutting the one slice of bread down the middle. Also Aldi rebranded the bread but it’s still the same ... maybe they can make it more accessible too

That's one thick original slice of bread. Your 1/2 slice looks like a regular slice to me!

That’s exactly why I started cutting them! I couldn’t eat a two slice sandwich without paying the price 😞

Skipped dinner yesterday (cuz i had a pretty late lunch) so got hungry earlier than normal today.

A variation on the salad I always have, but this time with leftover garlic shrimp and roasted beets. I bought a 2 for 1 package of the beets, so its going to be make an appearance on my salads for the next week or so.

Romaine, carrots, cucumber, feta, roasted beets and shrimp. + an espresso martini beforehand (not shown. YES, I had a drink before noon. Don't judge me.): 464 calories total.

Ate/Drank it all.

Not really. The dough is not as fatty as that of a borek. It was a slightly sweet bread-y like dough (but only slightly so) with a potato and onion filling. I think it would have tasted better warm.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
