Ok, so you still have big restriction and only eat small amounts? I also thought you were saying you could eat and finish that bowl of salad? :)

Oh sorry! I couldn't finish that! I still have restriction which I hope NEVER goes away and that's my fear that it will one day :(

Ok, ty for sharing! So how long does it usually take for the full feeling to go away? I honestly think it's time for me to work on bite timing again. I can see myself slipping back into bad habits of eating too large a bite, chewing too little, eating too quickly. And it may be time to start sitting at the table again rather than at my desk. :D

< ... >

Does it matter if you eat your meat first or veggies/salad first? How much volume do you think it was? Hard to tell if that's a Jethro size bowl or a small side salad bowl. :D

If/when the chest fullness goes away depends on what I'm eating. If I eat the denser stuff (proteins) it takes longer, maybe10-20 mins (sometimes much longer, if at all). I can eat lots of salad if that is all I eat. Salad fullness (or other slider-ish things) goes away in like 5-10 mins IF there is no other stuff like carrots/nuts/cheese etc..

That wooden bowl is pretty big. I just measured, its 9" in diameter & 3.5 inches deep. So like 15 cups, give or take a few cups if filled to brim?

6 weeks post-OP (technically that is tomorrow), but tried some cho-cho chicken from local Chinese place. Basically marinated chicken breast satay, four skewers. I could only eat about one and half skewers, about 3 oz. Guess I have lunch for Thursday and Friday as well. Just want to represent for all us noobs out here.

The feeling of restriction will naturally grow longer over time. At first you'll be full of 3 bites, then at 5-6 months out, you can eat a little more, about a year out you will feel 3/4 of plate and so on after 4-5 years a whole plate.

She's 2 years out from surgery hon. :D So she still has very lovely restriction which is awesome and I'm totally jealous. LOL.

Yes, sorry. I'm 1.5 years out. But as of right now, I have full restriction still... I can only pray it lasts :)

That is why it is important to use this time to make good habits. Learn to fill up on vegetables, Beans and fruit when you progress, keeping the Protein about 1 kg-1,5 g pr kg. Because vegetables and fruits will give you both Vitamins, minerals and they are cost effective for the body.

How far out from surgery are you? 4-5 years?

Here's the recipe. I'm still working on the website and there is lots of "dummy filler material up" but this recipe is live along with another couple. :) I'm actually about to have one today! :D

Vegetable Soup & fish "taco"

I made the most basic vegetarian soup and pan fried fish to go along with a flax/wheat mix flatbread

BF's serving is much more appealing so I featured it plus my own before & after (minus 1 cup of soup)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
