Is that Salt Lake City, Utah?
Yes Salt Lake City utah. I live about an hour south of there in Orem. And I’m terrified of going clothes shopping. It makes me panic. I’ve always had anxiety clothes shopping

Oh I see. Well with the weight loss hopefully it becomes more of a fun thing as oppose to anxiety inducing. I get that too. I never liked shopping before bc I’d see myself in the mirror and also had to see the sizes I had to put on. Now I have to say it’s more fun.
Hope you’re able to find some cute stuff!! I just bought a few things here and there as I lost weight bc I knew I was still losing. I have 22 pounds until I hit my goal weight.

I have 54lbs to go. I’m going to the gym about 2-3 times a week. So that’s nice

I actually had to brave it for a pair of leggings recently and used one of my husbands shirts and it was a huge difference. I still look in the mirror and I feel strange

Yes me too. When I take pics I am excited to finally feel confident in the pics but then I look st the pic and all I see is that I still have big legs etc. I don’t see the insane amount of weight loss when I take a pic but when I look bk at pre surgery pics I do see it. Guess everyone is their own worse critic and clearly I am on myself. My brain needs to catch up with the changes in my body.

Some people say it is. But the air is as bad as LA was when I was there last. A lot of the businesses don’t even take care of their fronts and lots, the roads are bad. Ugh. I’m biased. I hate utah. I miss home more than anything (Colorado Springs Colorado) home was stunning. We had the garden of the gods, the incline, everything was beautiful.

They say there has never been a better time to go thrift shopping. So many people are watching the Marie Kondo series on Netflix and purging there closets of anything that does not “spark joy” that the thrift stores are overflowing with good quality items. I should make a trip myself. I am interviewing for new jobs and had to face the fact that all of my suits made me look like a little girl in her mother’s clothes.

@libby leeb
But that’s a great feeling though to have dropped in sizes like that!!
@megan Sadler now Colorado is on my bucket list!! I want to go white Water rafting there w my husband and my boys. Everything about Colorado is appealing!! I hear it’s expensive to live there though. We are just outside of Houston in Texas.

I wonder if that’s true in SLC. Out here it’s just big families who pass their old stuff down to their youngest kids or it’s college student. One of our thrift stores just closed down recently. I’ve never had much luck at the other one because people finally purge stuff that should have been burned in the 80s . I always had great luck elsewhere. Especially Colorado but out here people are like “oh this item is still usable” and it most certainly is not. I had one lady donate old clothes to me... it was bad. Like shoulder pads and sequins bad.... thank god it didn’t fit.

We have a lot of great resale shops down here. Some still have tags on them or are gently used.

Hmm, I don’t know if it is true in Utah as well. I hope so! I wish you some some wonderful cheap finds so you can get through this transition feeling cute.

I’m going to brave the thrift shops in salt lake today and then go to chipotle for a burrito bowl with no rice and added guacamole 😍😍 of which I’ll eat maybe 1/3 lol

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
