Walked another 30 minutes home again today. And don't worry, when I make it to onederland you will probably hear me yelling all the way from Redmond, OR. I weigh everyday and then average for the week, and then chart it using excel. For those of you who don't know, I am a chemistry teacher! It is all about the data. According to my data and scientific figurings, I should be in onederland no later than Nov. 13. I am going away for the weekend, so I am a little worried, but I promise to let EVERYONE and their dog know! Thanks for the encouragement.

Curves has a new program which you can sign up for that will keep track of how hard you are working on each machine. It makes you push yourself to work as hard as you can. You get a little tag to scan at each machine as you go around the circuit and then the monitor will show you your reps and you do your best to keep the light at a solid green. Orange means you arent working to your goal and flashing green means you are over your goal. When you are done working out you can look at the computer to see how you did that day. Which muscles you worked the hardest, how many calories you burned and if you hit your goal overall. If you go over your goal it will bump it up for the next day or if you are under it will take you down. When you first sign up for it all your measurements and weight is taken again, along with your goals. All of this in entered into the computer to determine at what level you should be working. Since starting this I realized just how easy I was taking it before. It sure is worth it though.

Hi Gang!

Sorry it took me so long to return to the board, but I have been traveling for the past nine days. I'm back now and doing fine.

I am pleased to report that I maintained my commitment to exercise while traveling. I took long walks whenever possible and I worked out in hotel gyms when there were no other, better options.

Yesterday, I took three flights and spent 13 hours in airports and on planes, and still managed to do a 30 minute, fast-paced, walk at the Miami airport -- which is a (surprisingly) good place to do a walk.

I am glad to see that everyone is doing so well :clap2::clap2::clap2:!!!!

Talk to you soon!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
