My till was NEVER short and ALWAYS in order. Heads up, chin to the left. It drives me nuts when I get money from the bank and it's all over the place. I guess in the grand scheme of things it's not important, but I like my money in order.

"Heads up, chin to the left." That's awesome! As I used to say, I want all the mens looking at ME! har har. We're "detailed oriented" - your ex sounds OCD!

Hi everyone... It's been a while again, and I haven't gone through all the posts to catch up. Man, you guys post a lot!! There's HUNDREDS to go through!!

News in my world, in case anyone is interested or missed me...

The boyfriend moved in at the end of January, I got an offer on my house and settlement will be on May 15. Still working up at Argyle and things look good to continue there for a while. Got another couple of fills and finally got back to the restriction level I was at before that little fix-it operation I had last October, so FINALLY starting to see the scales move again. I had nearly given up in despair over that but it's all good now. Ooh - and I got a new haircut

How's everyone here? Does anyone want to give me a quick summary of the juicy gossip I've missed out on since my last post?

Hey Fanny. Your looking fabulous darling! Way to go on the sale of your house. I'm glad to hear you and your man is getting along well. I miss your pics of Aussie hon. They were always so fun to look at.

Susan thoughts and prayers are with you for a speedy recovery from your surgery and broken toe.

Glou and SNT..I am also anal about money. I used to use the term bankers left. (same as heads up and left). Oh I get so irritated when I get money and it is all mixed up and facing different ways. Espeacially if it is from the bank! You make fewer mistakes if your money is in proper denominations and all facing the same way.12_1_102.gif

Fanny, 'grats on the bf and the house!!!!

Ours is on the market and I hate it! I hate having to live like I don't actually live there, and I just wish the process was over with.

PJTP - been to the gym 4 days in a row...One more day and DD and I get manis! (It's a win-win for me, because she motivates me to go, plus the manis will be good bonding time for us. She has no idea I'm tricking her! Ha!)

*hi FANNY!! you look GREAT!, i think plain & mac are best at recapping - congrats on the house!

*money organization - i would likely drive you OCD money managers insane. i shove cash in whatever pocket; purse; gym bag; console.....very rarely is it in the wallet. i have to get a new ATM card every other month for the same reason.

*glouc - i think it's wonderful you going to the gym w/DD. does she not like to go, but enjoys it once there? takes a bit to get use to then it becomes habit.

also - there is nothing more annoying have to have your home perfectly clean & organized while people tredge through while selling.

*friday - SUNNY for a change, watching my dogs chase squirrels through office window - too funny.

I start with a nice clean wallet or purse and after 2 days none of my credit cards are in the wallet they are loose in my purse. I get carded for alcohol and it takes 2 minutes to find it... I am a mess with stuff like that. I guess it's a good thing I don't pay the bills.

Lulu.... I am jealous it's 38 degrees and rainy here.

i KNOW i was much better @ 10 - now, not so much....i like the art of surprise putting my hand in a pocket of already washed jeans and pulling out a $20....i'm easily entertained.

Glouc -- I just have to say that ex-boyfriend really gives all of us CPA's a bad name. Not all of us are that bad. I agree with the 'banker's left' theory, but to keep a spreadsheet. WOW!!

frigafraginsackin*%#*&^@....I get so mad at myself when I am really hungry and don't slow down and CHEW, CHEW, CHEW! I know what will happen, but do I sloowww down and do like I am supposed to? Why no, that would be to easy...

Now on a upper note....I went to a temp agency today. I can start as soon as Monday if I buy the color of pants and shirts and hair nets. I have 1 white shirt (but it is my good one) I do not have any beige pants. So I have to see if I can't borrow $ from my DS again. I hate having to ask, but I need the job.

Congrats on the job.. It sucks when you have to find specific clothes for a job.... Plus it makes it harder on us because our sizes are changing.

Although I don't mind the sizes changing... I cant wait to go down 1 more freaking size. I am in between a 10-12.

PJTP- I flooded myself with Water untintentionally this morning. I just keep drinking.. It's either take a drink or go raid the free candy or popcorn machines in the break room. This place is evil.

And I subscribe to the Suze Orman thought of respecting money to bring it to you. I'm (paper) cluttery in my home unfortunately but my purse is organized!!! I can't stand for things not to be in their proper place.

At a luncheon one time, I took a friend's wallet while the convo was continuing and put her money in order. She didn't even blink! (Yeah I was treasurer of our sorority for 2 years!)

*money organization - i would likely drive you OCD money managers insane. i shove cash in whatever pocket; purse; gym bag; console.....very rarely is it in the wallet. i have to get a new ATM card every other month for the same reason.

Girl, what do you have against a wallet + purse?!? :scared2:

Brandy - I saw pics of you on Facebook. I had no idea you were so small! Good job!

re: work food - I found out this week that I'm moving floors (long story). I so hope that they aren't bringing in food kind of folks!!!

Fanny you look GREAT!! LOVE your new hairdo!

Susan, hope your surgery went well!

g4e, congrats on the job. It's hard when you're broke but have to buy stuff in order to start making money! UGH!

Glouc, so is it mani's tomorrow?! Have FUN!!!

Money - It has to be in proper order and facing correctly.

PJTP - I'm pretty pleased w/myself. I bought a pedometer and have been using it everyday. I move a little more than I thought I did AND I've been putting DD in her stroller, leashing the dog and taking a walk in my neighborhood everyday. I'm going between 1-1.5 miles. It takes 30-45 minutes and it's TOUGH! We live in the mountains and the walk is all up and down hills. I'm thinking I need a "jogging" stroller now tho. [i am so NOT jogging! LOL!] Our regular stroller is bulky and hard to push and it doesn't like to track well. Hard on the hands/wrists. Anyway, finally getting my big [shrinking] butt moving consistently!!! AND my Exercise Induced Asthma isn't flaring up too bad. Shocking! Whoo Hoo!!

*rant* I hate it when people post on a thread that they haven't bothered to read all gazillion + pages and are commenting on the very first post. Esp. when the thread itself started a YEAR AGO and tho it's an ongoing thread, it's progressed as such that the OP[ost] isn't worth commenting on with ADVICE on how to proceed!!!!!! It's already PROCEEDED!!!!!! Read the WHOLE thing so your comments are CURRENT to what is happening TODAY!!!!!!! *rant over*

Thank you and have a good night! :scared2:

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
