I hate it when people post just to post.....

It's my AngelBaby's birthday today (she's 28!!) and last night I had a "surprise shopping party" for her. It was at a local fancy boutique, where you can book the shop for the night, invite about 8-12 people, they put on champagne and strawberries, give everyone a 10% discount, plus the host gets 10% of the total sales as an additional discount and everyone gets a free gift if they purchase something. The stuff in this boutique is absolutely gorgeous - clothing in all sizes and styles, fabulous jewellery, handbags, purses and hats... I could buy everything on their floor! The gifts were amazing too - mostly earrings that were retailing at around $30 a pair, and each one chosen specially by the staff to match what the person bought...

I bought my daughter some exquisite shoes (she's going to take a photo with her phone and send it to me soon - I'll post it when she does); and bought myself a hot new dress! This is the first dress I've worn (except for my daughter's wedding 7 years ago) in over 20 years!! Excuse the messy hair and unflattering face pic but I love the dress...

Fanny you look so awesome, lady in RED! :)

Ok I have to share with you all the funniest pic. I have a Meyer lemon tree and these mushrooms grew in the pot:

Hahahaaaa!! Do you think they would let me use that as my wallpaper background for my work computer? It IS nature after all... :cursing:

They have to bench press their weight plus 20lbs, squat their weight plus 50lbs and complete an agility course in a given time. They have to do 10 of each for the bench and squats and he did 9.5 and just couldn't get the full press!

He has worked so hard this last spring to get ready for this. He is not necessarily a natural athlete, but he will outwork the rest of the team 3 to 1. The coaches told him that they were impressed by his improvement from last summer and just from the work he has done in spring and summer lifting.

He is my "Iron Bear"!

Your kid is amazing, best wishes to him!!

Hello all!

How are you all doing? What is new here? I am well. August 1 was 3 year bandiversary....still hard to believe it has been that long!

Fannie--love the dress hottie!

Those mushrooms are priceless!

Anything extra exciting going on anywhere?

Hey girl!! So nice to see you posting again!! I'm good. Just trying to find that healthy balance.

You are doing so fantastic with your maintenance. I'll be looking you to for advice when I FINALLY get there. :wink2:

---------------------------------

PJTP: Ok, I just have to say. Since I got up today there has been the subject of penises where-ever I go. That's just really bizarre.

As a matter of fact, Marvin Gaye is on my Media Player right now. :( ...and, my calendar has a picture of a weiner dog on it too. Oh, and I bought a Magic Wand at the Wishing Well yesterday.

If I've offended anyone right now, please accept my most non sincerely apology. :wink2:

How much Water is too much water?

Does anyone take Diurex here?

Can I go home early from work today? I have some really important stuff to do on Facebook. Like, I just expanded my farm on Farmville and I need to do some shifting.

Ok, let's get this party started. This thread WILL NEVER DIE!!

PJTP...Getting ready to go to lunch with friends, but...since I'm a PJTP addict, I had to check in! :(

i miss taps as well - i hope she's at least lurking and see's our notes willing her to come back!!!!!

Come back, Taps...we miss you!

Good day everyone!

Hi KC!

Ebony - good luck on the 14's

It was...interesting...picked up a pair of "slim fit" capris, didn't see the "slim fit" part until I got into the changing room. It was okay, though - I got them on, buttoned up and zipped! And I could still breathe! Now I didn't like how my legs looked in them (I still have big legs) so I didn't buy them, but I'm thrilled I FIT into a 14!

Yay on the XL! That is so awesome! How did I miss seeing this before?

What she said...CONGRATS!!!

I am sure that those 14s will be great!

I did buy a couple of skirts in a size LARGE, and couple of tops in a size LARGE - as long as they stretch a little, I can still fit them over the "girls". I've got a body imbalance going on...shoulders demand a 16 or 18, bottom half can fit a 14...

You don't know Bobby Flay! I'm shocked!

I think it's because I don't watch enough TV:ohmy:

* ebony - hope you find some fab 14 shorts. there are some GREAT sales going on, i hit dillards yesterday real quick - and to buy off the rack not try on and pay nothing was the biggest NSV so far.

I hear ya on that one, Lulu! I'm going to have to stop shopping at Lane Bryant now...Oh Darn *in my best sarcastic voice* :huh2:

i think the IL are moving for many reasons:

* SIL is getting married (gay) DH is her best man (LOVE him for that) and well, line in the sand drawn......this of course all my opinion..............giggling & snorting:)

My DDMIL (dear departed mom-in-law) had a problem with my SIL's marrying her partner also. It took my DH pointing out that they have been together as a couple longer than any of the other folks in the family to make her see that they KNOW how to do it right...

Excuse the messy hair and unflattering face pic but I love the dress...

The party sounded like great fun, and you look HAWT in that dress - I love it!

Well, Beth needs to get her butt over here!

Yeah - what Heartfire said!

Let us know how it goes with the shorts! I'm wanting to shop but also not wanting to spend the money on clothes I'm not going to be able to wear come next year!

See above...okay with the shorts, better with skirts and tops...

Slim, let go of her leg and get off of the floor. Really, hon, it's okay. You can let go now. She gets it. And it's just not ladylike, please! (:cursing: Couldn't resist!)

ROFLMBO....

*Fanny, that sounds like SO MUCH FUN! And that dress is AWESOME!!!!!

What she said...

Ok I have to share with you all the funniest pic. I have a Meyer lemon tree and these mushrooms grew in the pot:

 you couldn't have planned that if you wanted to!

I'm worried about the Iron bear claws. If I can actually chew 'em, will they stick in my band? Maybe these aren't Breakfast pastries . My bad.

I'll be joining you lushes tonight. My daughter and her girlfriends have booked a room at the 5 star casino/hotel in town and we're all going to leave the husbands/boyfriends at home, party our asses off, get seriously trashed, fall into a heap in the hotel at some ungodly hour, then crawl home to our other halves at some stage tomorrow, probably feeling very seedy and sorry for ourselves :wink2: I love this plan! :wink2:

*Ebony sighs heavily* Can't wait until I get off the diabetes meds so I can get seriously trashed!:)

I was wondering when we would get on the topic of the drink of choice! We should all have Clear Liquids in honor of your upcoming surgery!

Mine will be non-alcoholic, but still...I'm in!

Hello all!

*Ebony jumping up and down* Hi BBK!

How are you all doing? What is new here? I am well. August 1 was 3 year bandiversary....still hard to believe it has been that long!

You are still my most favorite inspiration on the site!

Fannie--love the dress hottie!

Yah - what she said!

Your kid is amazing, best wishes to him!!

Definately agree!

Hey girl!! So nice to see you posting again!! I'm good. Just trying to find that healthy balance.

You are doing so fantastic with your maintenance. I'll be looking you to for advice when I FINALLY get there. :)

Me too!

PJTP: Ok, I just have to say. Since I got up today there has been the subject of penises where-ever I go. That's just really bizarre.

Too funny!

Can I go home early from work today? I have some really important stuff to do on Facebook. Like, I just expanded my farm on Farmville and I need to do some shifting.

You have MY permission to go home early...if that helps!

Ok, let's get this party started. This thread WILL NEVER DIE!!

Off to lunch shortly...have a great afternoon, Everyone!

PJTP...again!

Slim - you asked about my hair...

I had been relaxing for over 30 years (since I was 12 or 13) and started getting breakage behind both ears in 2007, so I decided to take the plunge and go natural. DH was, and is, completely supportive.

I dealt with the two textures for about 4 months - flatironing the roots so I could deal with my hair. It was shoulder-length, and I've NEVER had it short, so I was trying to "ease" into it...

Didn't really work - after a couple of months, the two very different textures were driving me nuts, so I chopped it off. I still had some permed ends, but it was mostly natural. Grew it out for a few more weeks and then went really short...not a caesar, but darn close! :cursing:

It just kept growing - its as if my hair finally felt "free". Maintenance was super-easy - Shampoo, condition, comb and go...loved it!

Now its grown out quite a bit - if I blow it out, I've got an Angela Davis quality fro going on...really BIG hair! I usually don't blow it out, though - I prefer the waves and curls of my natural texture, so I wet it down in the morning and put a leave-in conditioner on it, then finger-comb (my hair goes POOF when I use a comb on it) and out the door I go.

DH loves it, I love it...I'll have to post a pic soon. It really does look a LOT like my avi...when I first started here, I wanted my hair to be that long, and now it's there...I couldn't be happier.

I got lots of advice from nappturality.com - a website devoted to natural hair and the women who choose to wear it. Dreadlocks, afros, braids, curls, etc all are represented there...lots of style ideas, lots of advice, some lifestyle stuff too. I enjoy my time there, but I'm HERE more often.

Let me know if you have specific questions - I'd be happy to help! :(

Ebony, good on you! Natural hair is gorgeous! I let mine go natural and it's been a litle over a year now. I had to cut my hair down alot first. I cut about 5 inches off. :cursing:

I cut my own hair since I learned how and it came out really good. I haven't needed to cut my hair since. It's pretty amazing.

I co-wash my hair 3x per week and wash with shampoo 1x per week. I never use heat stylers and keep my hair really moisturized. It helps!

Like your hubby, my hubby loves mine too. He's always curling my hair around his fingers and says he can't wait til it gets so much longer, and I have mermaid hair.. LOL whatever that means!

Do you ever visit the message boards for natural hair? That's where I learned how to care for my curlies.

I want to go natural so bad, but my hair is pretty short in a lot of places. I would have to cut it really short at this point to cut off my relaxed ends. That would make me look like MIL. I am NOT doing that. I have thought about maybe doing twists of some sort, but I can't make up my mind. I also have a hard time finding someone here that knows how to do it right. I had microbraids once, but they were too long. I couldn't find anyone that would cut them for me. I finally cut those suckers out myself. I may have to go to Atlanta to get something done to it.

Oh I LOL all day at work. They'll ask what I'm laughing at, but I just tell them it was one of the voices in my head again.

I really want to go natural. I am so tired of trying to keep up with the relaxers. It sucks.

Have fun!

happy friday all!!!

PJTP: So, my friend comes over this morning to ride my horse for me, yippy! He hasn't been ridden (the horse) in about 3 years and I didn't feel like getting on and getting hurt!! So i get him ready, Vaughn rides him for 20-30 minutes, trots, lopes and does everything pretty well for a 3 year break. So time for me to climb on (NSV - I climbed on without a stool, have not done that in about 15 years!) start riding, having fun, start loping - damn horse puts his head down and starts bucking! :ohmy:Lose my balance and hit the ground hard. Roll over on my back and start laughing because I can't believe that just happened! Finally get my old ass up off the ground and climb on and finish my ride.

What are the odds of that! My left shoulder is killing me, my right hip is sore, I spurred my left leg with my right spur, I have a bruise on my right thigh from catching the horn on the way off and somehow I have a cut and bruise on my nose! Go figure.

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
