Any June 2018 Sleevers in Here?!

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to get into a good routine of eating better. I started yesterday and did good until last night. Ugh. This morning I felt really bad and so I ate a bunch of Protein stuff and it helped me feel better. I'm a borderline diabetic, but no meds.

No more sodas for me. I am trying really hard to cut out snack between meals. My hard thing is what to cook / eat.

I'm a teacher so I guess I need to pack my lunch each day. Any suggestions? Then at night, my family of four has such diverse tastes and I know they won't like anything I make. I'm stressed about that.

I'm with you in trying to get into the routine of eating better. I know I'm going to struggle with the liquid diet pre- and post-op so I'm trying to prep myself now by doing a Protein Shake for Breakfast and lunch, at least 40 ounces of Water, and then eating an actual meal for dinner (baby steps).

I've been CRAVING soda big time, but I started putting crystal light and crush packets into my bottled water when I get the sugar craving. When I'm craving a snack, I just kind of ignore that craving and drink water. Which probably isn't a good habit, but I'm trying to practice my self control plus I know dehydration is a big issue after surgery.

You could try meal prepping the night before or meal prepping for the week, and maybe get your family in on it. Doing crock pot meals, or starting on creamy broths and Soups. The nutritionist gave me a list of Proteins and vegetables that I should start eating. Hope this helps and good luck!!

I have received my surgery date of june 21 and really need support around the prep. I need to be on Liquid Protein for 2 weeks prior (starts around June 9). I’ve started to drink a shake for breakfast some days but keep wondering how I will do this for 2 weeks straight . I’m worried about post surgery too. I’m a hard core food addict for 50 years and can’t imagine how I will stop using food after the surgery. Any support is much appreciated.

My husband and I just had a talk tonight because this was a BIG concern for me. He is actually the better cook in the house, but he doesn't cook low fat. He said he would cook for he and the kids (16 and 13 years old) and I'll take care of myself.

That's a huge weight off my shoulder.

That's awesome Annie!! So glad that your husband is being super supportive, and like you said that's a big weight off your shoulders, especially when you're int he recovery phase.

The shakes are ok, and they're kinda gross so I'm just trying to adjust. Good luck!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
