I am actually feeling pretty nervous! Butterflies in my stomach since two days ago, and I still have 13 days until the surgery. At this rate, I will be hyperventilating with high blood pressure on the day of. ;) I still believe I'm making the right decision, but any time I think about it, I feel nervous.

How are you doing?

Hello,

I was approved for surgery last Thursday and scheduled the actual surgery date for May 15th. I am beyond excited! I am pleased with how smooth the insurance approval went. It took one day to get an approval so thankfully I did not have to wait. Anyone else have surgery in May? And for those of you who have already had surgery what do I pack in my hospital bag? I am so looking forward to this next chapter in my life.

Hi, I'm May 2nd. I am going to pack leggings and loose tshirts for daytime. A loose long cardigan if it's cold. Made sure I have comfy undies. I have stretch crop top type bras that pull on over head. Much more comfy than proper wire ones. I have some loose nighties for sleep time. I'll bring a light dressing gown in case I'm worse than I expect first day and not up to dressing. It's nice to have some coverage if nurses and drs in and out. God I hope I get a private room.

I’m scheduled for May 2nd, too!! I’m thinking about bringing some loose loungewear, and maybe a maxi dress or something. Hopefully we will only be in the hospital for one night! I hadn’t even thought about how many people may be in a room together, I wish I’d asked!
How are you feeling as the day approaches? I feel like I’m living in the twilight zone, like this can’t really be happening!

That's a good idea on dresses. I will pack a coupon loose swing dresses I have. Often hospital rooms are hot. I am nervous but excited to start my weight loss journey. I have some photos near my fridge of when I was size 8-10 to keep in mind how good it will be to slim down if I'm struggling at any point.

Congrats, that is soooo exciting!!! I had mine about 3 weeks ago! I would recommend packing the loosest stretchy pants you can find. Anything hugging your tummy will feel worse then you will already feel. Good luck! [emoji5]

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
