I used to live in West Palm/Lake Worth then moved north to Martin County and finally settled up here in north central Florida about 6 years ago.

I start pre-op liquid diet on Wednesday. Any tips?

My best advice is to make sure you drink your Water, chew gum to satisfy your need to chew and sip your Protein Drinks to stave off hunger. I haven't been HUNGRY like starving hungry. I've just been hungry for something to dig my teeth into. But the hunter itself has been manageable. Miserable, but manageable.

Floridagal1976 that's AWESOME!! I'm day 4. Yesterday was weird. At "lunch," my shake made me a little sick to my stomach. I'm feel like I was just hangry the first two days, now my tummy just feels blah. I'm having a Protein Shake 3 times a day and 2 yogurts. Any suggestions on substitution?

That's all your having? Just 3 shakes and 2 yogurts? That doesn't sound like it's enough. I get 5 shakes, at 3 hour intervals. I was eating SF Jello (I've never liked jello) but I'm bored with it. I've also been relying on broth. Probably more than I should but it's better than cheating with food. I have 2 bouillon cubes a day (only supposed to have 1, as needed). Well damn it I need it every day! I can also have SF popsicles (gross). Just keep your eyes on the prize! I'm on day 9. Over halfway there. The finish line is on sight!!!

Yes. Wow!! You're having a feast compared to me!! What is your total pre surgery Protein intake, carb intake, calorie
and sugar intake set for?

I Don't have a quota to meet, as long as I don't have any sugar or carbs or any calories beyond my Protein Shakes. I would imagine my protein is 150g a day, considering each shake has 30g and I have to drink 5 a day but it hasn't been officially set.

My liquid diet is 6 high Protein Ensure a day and 2 cups of non-starchy veg.
I'm terribly envious of those people are are allowed to eat meat, I miss meat.

I'm taking 4 weeks off, I saved up some vacation time from last year, I just wanted to know I was on solid food and know what's what before going back to work.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
