There is a variety of non-milk based protein powders. Soy, pea, rice, hemp etc.

Vega tastes very sweet (if you mean the brand Brendan Brazier created). It's very heavy on stevia. I use some Vega products as well but only occasionally.

So far I'm liking MRM Veggie protein, but it's only available online. Someone recommended Orgain to me which is available at Costco. Are you allergic to cow's milk or does that include plant-based milk as well? My favorite is soy but there's almond, rice, coconut, hemp, flax, etc. - all kind of milk!

Cow milk the other milks. I would like to make it myself because there are none ready to go shakes that are milk free. Only poweder do it your self at home. Thats fine but i would like something other than that. I know i can use other kinds of "milk" and i do but i need some bullet proof recepie.

Wslmart has a plant, based shake called Vega, haven't found anyone who has tried it,but I would guess, there would be no whey in it.

Hi. Pre op I tried several protein powders as I am allergic to dairy (the protein in it) I did try the Vega and it tastes ok but made me VERY constipated ... took me over a month after stop using it to get back to “normal”. I use (and have for about 30 yrs) “spiru-tein “ protein powder,,, it is pea protein based, comes in different flavors.. I can add it to the butternut squash soup and is very good... the program had me try “Olly “ brand but I didn’t like it... and t didn’t feel like it had any protein in it (didn’t make me feel full) and tends to tastes a bit chalky.
