How youuuu poopin’?

I’m getting the sleeve. I’ve ibs-d until about 10 years ago. Since then I have very few flares and have been doing great. But I do worry about pooping and diarrhea and all that gross stuff after surgery. I’m afraid to have to live looking for toilet everywhere I go. How is everyone else doing?

  • For a couple of weeks there was a little urgency here and there....but nothing in my pants. Bahahaha! There were a few mad dashes and clenched buns, though:) I'm a couple of months out now and

Diarrhea? Nah. It's the other problem. The people here who do complain of poop issues usually complain of constipation. That's less upsetting overall and more readily fixable, thankfully.

  • Good to know! Thanks. I don’t want to worry about poopin my pants;)

I use probiotics - throw them into sugar free pudding with added protein for a snack at night, and it is keeping me regular. I switch every other day to the ones with added fiber in them. I use just a single packet (kid's serving) and do just fine.

I'm 10 months out and I have the opposite problem of most on here- I have had maybe 3 solid stools the whole time. I just know now to stay near a bathroom and keep hydrated. Because seriously, it's like water. And I can't figure out specifically what's causing it.

I recently had a bad run of constipation that culminated in a blockage that needed to be cleared on Saturday with a suppository, and this blockage left a whole lot of blood behind. Several days of Miralax and fiber supplements twice a day for the foreseeable future, and I'm fine now.

I'm way more regular than I was at the beginning. Then again my diet has a lot more fiber and probiotics in it now and that has helped a whole lot.

The issue has been constipation for me, and it’s worse for me since I had an anal fissure that needed to be repaired with surgery about four years ago. Trying the Fiber pills/Miralax combo now, and I had a cup of coffee for Breakfast.

I have a quick ? I am plagued by The Big constipation issue. I tried Metemucle (however it is spelled) it made it worse, bloated and feeling horrible. Panic and pain made me buy MIRALAX. My cousin said she uses it everyday. Well the instructions tell you to only use it for 1 week. In your post you also said you use it everyday. Is it safe for us to use longer? I don't see my Dr until next month and this is kind of important to me. LOL Maybe I should ask one of these DR's on here. LOL If you have more knowledge than I do please share. It is kind of something we need to know. LOL

My doctor said it’s safe to use it everyday. It acts like a sponge pulling water into the bowel. No stimulant laxatives .

Constipation absolutely brutal. Gross, but completely impacted with clay-like balls. Down to digging them out in the shower!

Now trying 6 fiber gummys, green apple smoothies, flax seeds in drinks, daily. If it doesn't work after 3 days, taking pills or suppository. Not having that happen again.

I only took Miralax until I had my next bowel movement. By then the fiber pills were keeping everything moving. I don't think I took Miralax for longer than 3 or 4 days.
